JENKINS, Raymond Robert
RIDGELEY, W.Va. Raymond Robert Jenkins, 67, of Knobley Estates, Ridgeley, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born on May 26, 1933, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Robert Clarence[sic, Clayton] Jenkins and Ruth (Windemuth) Jenkins Klavuhn. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Schurg. Mr. Jenkins was an Army veteran, having served at the end of the Korean Conflict. He had worked in the clerical department of the Letter-Kenny Ordinance Depot. Next, he went to Pittsburgh Plate and Glass, where he worked in the polishing department for 19 1/2 years. In 1973, Mr. Jenkins became a real estate broker, holding licenses in MD, WV and PA. He and his wife, Darlene, opened Jenkins Appraisal Service in 1992. They were able to serve people in MD, WV and PA. Mr. Jenkins was a member of the Historic Highlands Association of Realtors, where he had been vice-president. He had also been chairman of the Grievance Committee for 16 years. In addition, he belonged to the MD Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and MD Association of Appraisers. Mr. Jenkins had been a member for over 25 years of the Woodmen of the World, Lodge #6, Cumberland. He was also a member of B.P.O.E., Lodge #470, Frostburg, and Knobley Mt. Post #136, American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Darlene Marie (Pape) Jenkins; three sons, Raymond Wilson Jenkins and wife Christine, Ridgeley, Steven Robert Jenkins and wife Kelley, Warrenton, Va., and Randell Charles Jenkins and wife Linda, Martinsburg; one sister, Charlotte Wilson and husband Paul, Clarks Summit, Pa.; one brother, Fred Jenkins and wife Eileen, Frostburg, Md.; one half brother, David Klavuhn, Murry, Pa.; a stepbrother, Ralph Klavuhn and wife Jane, Cumberland; and four grandchildren, Justin Raymond Jenkins, Angela Marie Jenkins, Cody Steven Jenkins and Dillon Robert Jenkins. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Woodmen of the World, Lodge #6, will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dan Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded by the Local Combined Veterans Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Allan Stevenson, John Workmeister, Marty O'Toole, Terry McKenzie, John Macy and Doug Macy. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Mathews, Henry Holzshu, Alan Macy, Virgil Twigg, Bill Davis, Clyde Johns, Mike Goodfellow, John Robb, Eugene Broadwater and Alan Brinsfield.
