Mrs. Ada L. Logsdon died Sunday, May 31, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Ickes, 415 W. Pitt street, Bedford. Born in Somerset county June 7, 188I, she was a daughter of the late Uriah and Cevilla Bittner Murray. Her husband, Edward G. Logsdon, died in 1929. She is survived by three children: Mrs. Edna B. Ickes and Robert L. Logsdon, both of Bedford, and DeWain Logsdon, Manns Choice. She also leaves two brothers, Frank Murray of Sand Patch and Charles Murray of Meyersdale, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Dye of Kennell Mills. Mrs. Logsdon was a member of the Manns Choice Church of God. Funeral services, Wednesday, June 3 at 1:30 p. m. at the Manns Choice Church of God, the Rev. Albert Smith officiating. Interment in Grandview cemetery, Johnstown.

Mrs. Adah L. Logsdon, 78, Millersburg Rt. 3, died suddenly at her home at 11:35 a. m. following a short illness. She was born March 14, 1876 in Mechanic township, Holmes county, the daughter of Joseph V. and Julia Brink Finley. Married Oct. 10, 1900 she was a life-long member of the Bethel EUB church in Mechanic township but attended the Methodist church of Millersburg in later years, and is a member of the Friendly Neighbors WSCS of that church. Surviving are her husband, Harry C.; one son, Wade, Millersburg Rt. 3; four brothers, Walter Finley, Millersburg; Lloyd Finley, Millersburg Rt. 3; John Finley, Jeromesville; Dale Finley, Coshocton Rt. 3. Two granddaughters, one son, Emmett, three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Thursday, 2 p. m., at the Elliot-Myers funeral home, Millersburg. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, and friends may call at the funeral home after Wednesday noon.

BARTON “Alvin J. Logsdon, 50, died at his home this morning at his home on LaTrobe Street following a lingering illness. A native of Barton, he was the son of Mrs. Mary A. (McGimpsey) Logsdon and the late William Logsdon. He was a retired businessman and a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic church. Surviving are five brothers, James S. and William Logsdon, both at home, Lloyd Logsdon, Lonaconing, Dellzell Logsdon, Canal Zone, and Charles Logsdon, Washington, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Howell and Mrs. Henry Howell, both of here. Services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from St. Gabriel's Church. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow.”

Three persons, including a mother and daughter from Mt. Savage, were killed and 13 injured in four separate motor vehicle accidents yesterday and Friday. Dead are Mrs. Anna Mae Logsdon, 65, Mt. Savage; Mrs. Marcella Flo Aldridge, 41, Mt. Savage, daughter of Mrs. Logsdon, Kenneth Richard Hose, 19, Moorefield. Mrs. Logsdon and Mrs. Aldridge were fatally injured about 2:30 p.m. yesterday on May's Curve, Route 42, about a mile south of Maysville, W. Va., when the foreign compact car operated by Mrs. Aldridge and rounding a turn went across the center line and struck a 1971 pickup truck operated by Philo L. Mongold of Alexandria, Va., a native of Maysville. Mrs. Logsdon was dead on arrival at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg. Mrs. Aldridge died 15 minutes after being admitted, attaches said. Two Children Hurt Mrs. Aldridge's two children, John, 11, and Pamela, 13, were injured in the accident and taken to Memorial Hospital here where they are in the intensive care unit. Mr. Mongold was not injured. Hospital attaches said the Aldridge boy is in serious condition with injuries to both legs and the head, while his sister is in fair condition with a head injury. Mrs. Logsdon was born in Mt. Savage, a daughter of the late John L. and Janet Elliott Bridges. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Helen Uncapher, Bowling Green; and Mrs. Joan Clauson, Corriganville; two sons, Edward I. Logsdon and Lewis K. Logsdon, both of Mt. Savage; two brothers, Edgar Bridges, Mt. Savage; Robert Bridges, Elkins, W.Va.; a sister, Mrs. Benona Loar, Mt. Savage; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body will be at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg. Mrs. Aldrige was born in Mt. Savage and was a daughter of Mrs. Logsdon and the late Marshall Logsdon.She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Aldridge; two daughters, Mrs. Marsha Phillips, Morgantown; Miss Pamela Aldridge, at home; two sons, Charles R. Aldridge, Mt. Savage; John Aldridge, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Uncapher, Bowling Green; and Mrs. Joan Clauson, Corriganville; two brothers, Edward P. Logsdon and Lewis K. Logsdon, both of Mt. “Miss Anna Mary Logsdon, of 1636 Greenleaf Avenue, Chicago, Ill., a former resident of Barton, died January 9 in a Chicago convalescent home following an illness of several years. Requiem high mass and interment took place January 11 in Chicago. Born in Barton, Miss Logsdon was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Logsdon. Survivors include wo sisters, Mrs. Mervin Thompson and Miss Loretta Logsdon, R.N., with whom she resided, a brother, Clement Logsdon, also of Chicago and several neices and nephews.”

Mr. Anthony Logsdon, a respectable old citizen of this place for many years, suffered a stroke of paralysis at his home here Friday last, it being the second stroke within two years. Mr. Logsdon, after being unconscious for the past two days, passed away Tuesday morning at 1 a.m. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rachel Logsdon and three sons and four daughters - Mrs. John Grabenstein of Cumberland; Mrs. Athey, of Oldtown; Mrs. Andrew Cross and Mrs. Harrison Steele, of Mt. Savage; Mr. Noah Logsdon, of Pennsylvania; Messrs. Wm. and Walter Logsdon, both of Mt. Savage. The funeral will take place Thursday morning from his home on Railroad street at 10 a.m.

Hyndman, Pa., Jan.18 — Benjamin Franklin Logsdon, 76, Route 1, died early today. He was a son of the late Samuel and Rachel Lowery Logsdon. Surviving are his widow, the former Emma Burley, and the following children: Thomas, Cumberland; Mary Logsdon, Rt. 1, Cumberland; Esther and Delilah, at home; Mrs. Bruce Berkheimer and Timothy Logsdon, Hyndman; and a foster son, John Burley, at home. He was a member of Cook's Mill Methodist Church.

Bernard T. Logsdon, 65, died Thursday morning at his home in Stillwell, Holmes county. Mr. Logsdon worked as a timber cutter for 30 years, and for the past nine years was employed by the Flexible Co. plant in Millersburg. At one time he was a member of the world's champion crosscut sawing team and held speed sawing records for a number of years. He was born Nov. 4, 1897, in Knox county, a son of George and Almeda McFadden Logsdon, and was married to Lela Robinson, who survives. Others surviving are two daughters, Marlene Logsdon, Redlands, Calif., and Karen Logsdon of the home, one sister, Mrs. Glen (Lena) Zollars and five grandchildren. One son and one brother are deceased. Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p. m. in the Stillwell (Wolf Creek) Baptist church in charge of Rev. Eugene Booker. Burial will be in Stillwell Baptist cemetery. Friends may call Saturday evening at the Elliott-Hartline funeral home in Millersburg and Sunday afternoon and evening at the residence.

Bert E. Logsdon, 82, of Hyndman, R.D. 1, died Sunday, March 29, 1987, in Memorial Hospital of Bedford County. He was born in Hyndman December 12, 1904, a son of the late Charles I. and Mary F. (Lowery) Logsdon. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Mary Elizabeth Pennell who died February 28, 1977. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Betty J. Heiple, of Cornwall, New York; and Mrs. Marylu Cook, of Hyndman. Three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive along with two sisters, Mrs. Edna Shaffer and Mrs. Margaret Holler, both of Hyndman. Mr. Logsdon was a retired crane operator for Amcelle Plant of Celanese Corp. in Cumberland, and a member of the Fairhope Community Church. Funeral services: Wednesday, April 1, at 11 a.m. at Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home in Hyndman, with Rev. Leroy Logsdon, a nephew, officiating. Burial in the Hyndman Cemetery.

LOGSDON, Mrs. Bertha Fuller

Mrs. Bertha Logsdon, aged 49, of 136 West Third Street, died at Allegany Hospital this morning. She was a daughter of Charles and Mary E. Kurtz Fuller, who survive, together with her husband, Walter D. Logsdon, one son, Walter C. Logsdon, and one daughter, Mrs. Leola Martin. She also leaves two brothers, Albert C. Fuller and William H. Fuller, both of Corriganville, and the following sisters, Mrs. A. C. Fleegle, Corriganville; Mrs. Levi Faulkner, Mrs. Edward Wilger, of Ellerslie, and Mrs. Glen Lee, this city. There are four grandchildren.

Mrs. Bessie G. Logsdon, 91, of Hyndman RD 1, died March 27, 1975, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. A native of Hyndman, she was a daughter of Nicholas and Drusella (Lowery) Beal and the widow of Irvin H. Logsdon. Surviving are two sons, Leo W. and Robert W. Logsdon, and four daughters, Mrs. Helen Reges, Mrs. Mabel Shroyer, Mrs. Mildred Miller and Mrs. Gladys Stallings, all of Hyndman RD 1; also 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon in Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with Rev. Leroy Logsdon and Rev. John D. Miller officiating. Interment in Palo Alto Cemetery.

Hyndman, Pa. – Betty L. Logsdon, 77, of R.D., Hyndman, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 1995, at Hospital Center, Washington, D. C. Born July 15, 1918, at Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late David and Abigail (Struckman) Hendershot. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hendershot; and two sisters, Thelma Beal and Ruth Mason. Mrs. Logsdon was a member of Bible Gospel Church, Hyndman. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Leo W. Logsdon; three sons, Ronald L. Logsdon and wife Viola, Terry W. Logsdon and wife Elaine, and D. Michael Logsdon and wife Bonnie, all of R.D. 1, Hyndman; two daughters, Carol Ann Harvey and husband Jerry, Walkersville, Md. And Jennifer G. Heller, Cumberland, Md.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Mildred Groves, R.D. 1, Buffalo Mills, Pa. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Clarence L. Logsdon, 75, died Saturday at the Bedford Home for the Aged, where he had been a patient three years. A native of Hyndman RD 1, he was a son of the late Moses and Ellen (Emerick) Logsdon. He was a retired B&O Bolt and Forge employe and was a member of Hyndman Christian Church and Hyndman Grange 1954. Surviving are his widow, Hilda (Cook) Logsdon; three brothers, Emmanuel, Earl and Carl; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Farber, all of here. The body is at the Ziegler Funeral Home. A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Willard White officiating. Interment will be in Lybarger Cemetery.

HYNDMAN, Pa. - Clyde Edward Logsdon, 57, a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad carman helper, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at his home here. Mr. Logsdon was found dead when his wife returned from the funeral of a nephew, Blair Browning, 16, who was killed Christmas Day in a truck-bicycle accident near here. Mr. Logsdon appeared to be in good health when his wife left home. A native of Hyndman, he was born June 3, 1890, a son of Mrs. Ellen (Emerick) Logsdon and the late Moses Logsdon. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the P. O. S. of A. and the Brethren Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Nannie Browning, whom he married February 26, 1923; his mother; five children, Harry H. Logsdon, Hyndman; Mrs. Edward Dietz, Pitcairn, Pa.; George F. Logsdon, Heizer, Kansas; Edward Hillegas Logsdon, Pitcairn; and Robert A. Logsdon, Hyndman; five brothers, Manuel, Earl and Carl Logsdon, all of Hyndman; Noah Logsdon, Cumberland; and Clarence Logsdon, Buffalo Mills, Pa.; and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Beals, Hyndman; Mrs. Albert May, Johnstown, Pa.; and Mrs. Ruth Sarver, Hyndman. "Lonaconing - Daniel "Kenny" Logsdon, 58, died yesterday at his home here. Born in Barton, he was a son of Mrs. Mary Ann (McGimpsey) Logsdon, Lonaconing, (sic-Barton) and the late William Logsdon. The proprietor of a Barton restaurant, Mr. Logsdon was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, the Holy Name Society of the parish and the James P. Love Post, American Legion. Surviving, besides his mother, are his widow, Mrs. Mae (Barry) Logsdon, five daughters, Mrs. Rita Hartley, Baltimore; Mrs. Mary Ann McGreevy, Cumberland; Mrs. Eleanor Sheally, Cleveland, and Mrs. Patsy Keyes and Mrs. Monica Mason, both of Lonaconing; two sons, John Logsdon, Baltimore, and Kenneth Logsdon, Lonaconing; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Howell and Mrs. Lula Howell, both of Barton; three brothers, William Logsdon, Barton; Charles Logsdon, Washington, and Dell Zell Logsdon, Canal Zone, and seven grandchildren. The body is at the residence. A requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church by Rev. Charles W. Bogan, pastor. Interment will be in the parish cemetery."

Funeral services in the Brinkhaven Church of Christ will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday for David D. Logsdon, 11, Brinkhaven Route 1, who was found Tuesday evening with his head submerged in oil in a storage tank near his home. Rev. Lawrence Hayes will officiate and burial will be in Tiverton cemetery. Friends may call tonight at the Dusthimer funeral home in Danville. Dr. A. J. Earney, Holmes county coroner, said death was due to gas poisoning. The boy is believed to have been overcome by fumes from the crude oil stored in the tank. The boy and a cousin reportedly stopped at the tank while on their way home after helping with farm work at the home of a neighbor. David's cousin ran to the home of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Logsdon, to tell them David was in the tank. He apparently had been overcome by fumes while leaning over the rim of a 15-foot storage tank. The father tried artificial respiration but was unable to revive his son. Surviving besides the parents are five sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Hammond of Brinkhaven, Mrs. Dorothy Helms of Butler, Mrs. Mary Alice Fronsman of Killbuck, Donna Lou and Sharon A. of the home.

BARTON-Mrs. E. Pauline Logsdon, 70, formerly of here died yesterday at the House in the Pines Nursing Home, Catonsville. Born at Paw Paw, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur A. and Emma B. (Hanna) Waring and was the widow of J. Dellzell Logsdon. Surviving are a son, Dr. John W. Logsdon, Baltimore, and a brother, Dr. H. Glenn Waring, Baltimore. The body is at the Boal Memorial Chapel here, where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there Friday at 1 p.m. by Rev. Earl Calvin Logsdon, 92, of Hyndman RD 1, died Saturday, May 10, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born Sept. 6, 1904, near Hyndman, a son of the late Moses and Ellen (Emerick) Logsdon. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha M. (Kirchner) Logsdon on Feb. 18, 1985; two sons, Earl D. and Raymond; and stepchildren Harry Deneen and Evelyn Deneen. He is survived by a daughter, Martha E. Merkel with whom he resided; a son, Melvin W. Logsdon and his wife Catherine of Chambersburg; a stepson, Carl Deneen and his wife Helen of Hyndman RD 1; two grandsons he raised, Melvin Logsdon Jr. of Buffalo Mills RD 1 and Clay Logsdon Sr. of Hyndman; 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a retired laborer, coal miner and also had been employed at the B&O Shops in Cumberland, Md. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 245, Cumberland, Md. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with the Rev. Edward Shockey officiating. Burial in Comps Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Elijah Logsdon, 85, retired farmer of Millersburg Route 2, died at 5 p. m yesterday in his home of a heart ailment. He had been in failing health. He was born Feb. 2. 1861, in Mechanic township, Holmes county, a son of William and Susan Logsdon. His wife, Mrs. Laura Southerland Logsdon, died Feb. 1, 1942. He was a member of the Bethel United Brethren church. Surviving are one son, William Logsdon of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Stella Zeller, Cleveland; one brother, John Logsdon, Lima, and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. Monday in the Elliott funeral home, Millersburg, with Rev. Ernest Howe, Cambridge, and Rev. William J. Daugherty, Millersburg, Route 3, officiating. Burial will be made in Millersburg cemetery. Mrs. Elizabeth (Shroyer) Logsdon, 87, of Hyndman, died Saturday, January 4, 1975 in the Wentz Rest Home, at Manns Choice, R.D. 1. She was born April 26,1887, in Hyndman, a daughter of the late Andrew Shroyer and Ellen Jane (Beal) Shroyer. She was married to Andrew Shroyer (sic) who preceded her in death. She is survived by one brother, John Shroyer of Hyndman. Mrs. Shroyer was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Hyndman and a member of the Hyndman Grange. Funeral services: Tuesday, January 7, at 2 p.m. in the Zeigler Funeral Home in Hyndman, with the Rev. John D. Miller and the Rev. Leroy Logsdon, officiating. Burial in the Hyndman Cemetery. Leon Warcznski, assistant pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, for Mrs. Ellen Logsdon, 63, widow of the late James T. Logsdon. Interment was in St. Peter's cemetery, Westernport. Pallbearers were Joseph Dempsey, Oliver Young, James Baker, William Kirk, Wellington Longridge and Howard Tranum.

A native of Barton, she was a daughter of the late James and Jane (Lamont) Kirk and was a member of St. Gabriel's church. She is survived by a son, James Clement Logsdon, who resided with her; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Longridge, Barton, and Mrs. Agnes Baker, National, and one brother, Martin Kirk, Barton."

Hyndman, Pa., Dec. 19 - Mrs. Emma Jane Logsdon, 77, died last night at her home, Route 1, Hyndman. She was born in Bedford county, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Witt) Burley. Her husband died about three years ago. She was a member of Cook's Mill Methodist Chapel. Surviving are six children, Thomas Logsdon, of Cumberland; Mrs. Ruth Burkheimer, of Hyndman, and Esther, Mary, Delilah and Timothy Logsdon, all at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Gaumer, of Hyndman, and Mrs. James Lowery, of Cumberland.

Emanuel G. 'Manny' Logsdon, 93, of Hyndman, died Monday, May 31, 1982, at Cumberland Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hyndman, February 17, 1889, a son of the late Moses and Ellen (Emerick) Logsdon. He was married to Grace (Evans) Logsdon who preceded him in death in 1930. Surviving are a son and two daughters, John Logsdon, of Cumberland; Mrs. Hilda Snider, of Hyndman; and Mrs. Kathryn Troutman, of Ellerslie, Md. Twenty-five grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren also survive, along with a brother, Earl Logsdon, of Hyndman, R.D. 1; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Sarver, of Hyndman. Mr. Emerick was a lifetime resident of the Hyndman area and a retired farmer. At the time of his death he was the oldest male citizen of Hyndman. He was also a member of the Hyndman Senior Citizens. Funeral services: Thursday, June 3 at 1 p.m. at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home in Hyndman, with Rev. Edward Murray and Rev. Galen Beitzel officiating. Burial in Hyndman Cemetery.

STRUCK BY AUTOIST; DIES OF INJURIES
Enoch Logsdon, of Eckhart, Victim of Cruel Driver, Who Sped Away from Scene
Frostburg, Md., Dec. 1 - The automobilist who strikes down a pedestrian and speeds away, leaving his victim unconscious and bleeding along the road, claimed his third victim last night when Enoch Logsdon, 62 years old, a retired miner of Eckhart, succumbed to injuries at his home. Logsdon was found about 8:30 o'clock Thursday night on the National pike, near Kelly's pump, unconscious and bleeding. How he met his injuries are unknown, but indications were that he had been hurled to the roadway by a speeding automobile. Logsdon had left his home at 7:30 o'clock to visit some friends. He was removed to Miners' Hospital and Friday morning apparently had recovered and was removed to his home. Friday night he suffered a relapse and a physician was summoned. He never rallied and death ensued Sunday night. It is stated he apparently suffered internal injuries and a severe blow to his head. He is survived by two sons, William Logsdon, of Detroit, Mich., and Owen Logsdon, of Eckhart, and a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Walsh. He is also survived by one brother, James Logsdon, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell, both of Eckhart. He was well and favorably known and until ten years ago had followed the occupation of a miner. The funeral will probably take place Wednesday, with burial in Eckhart Cemetery. He was a member of the Eckhart Baptist Church.

Miss Esther M. Logsdon, 76, R.D. 1, Hyndman, died Monday morning, August 27, 1973 in Cumberland Memorial Hospital. She was born April 15, 1897 at Hyndman, R.D. 1, the daughter of the late Frank Logsdon and Emma (Burley) Logsdon. She is survived by a brother, Timothy, two sisters, Mary M. Logsdon and Deliah H. Logsdon, all of R.D. 1, Hyndman: and a cousin, John Burley, who was raised by the family. Miss Logsdon was a member of the Cooks Mills Methodist Church and the Mary Bible Class of the church. Funeral services: Wednesday, August 29, at 11 a.m. at the Zeigler Funeral Home in Hyndman with the Rev. John D. Miller, her pastor, officiating. Burial in the Porter Cemetery. Friends will be received in the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Born Feb. 19, 1940, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late George Lincoln and Anna Bessie (Kerchner) Stuby. Surviving are her husband, Gerald F. Logsdon; children, Deborah, wife of William Smith, Hyndman; Judith A., wife of James Cosgrove, Cumberland; David Wayne Stuby and wife Jackie, Cumberland; Joyce Lynn Printy, Cumberland; Gary Logsdon and wife Vicki, who was a special daughter-in-law to Faye, Cumberland; Michael Logsdon, Cumberland; Kim Logsdon, Cumberland; and Edward Logsdon and wife Dawn, Cumberland; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, Pa. on Tuesday, Aug. 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Korns officiating. Interment will be in the Cooks Mills Cemetery. On the day of the funeral, Mrs. Logsdon's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. FROSTBURG - Mrs. Flora E. Logsdon, 85, formerly of here, died Saturday in Baltimore, where she resided with her daughter, Mrs. Leona Fazenbaker. Born in Oakland, she was a daughter of the late David Hansel and Jane (Clark) Hansel. Mrs. Logsdon was a member of First English Baptist Church. Her husband was the late Herbert Logsdon. Besides her daughter, survivors include one son, Harold Logsdon, Cumberland; one sister, Mrs. Mary Martens, Eckhart; three brothers, Harry Hansel, here; Edgar Hansel, Eckhart; Ervin Hansel, Baltimore; eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Frostburg, Sept. 3 - Mrs. Frances (Wilson) Logsdon, 58, wife of Hiram Logsdon, 155 Wood street, died at 8:30 a.m. today at Allegany Hospital, Cumberland, where she had been a patient for seven weeks. She was an active member of the First M. E. Church and the Young Women's Missionary Society. Mrs. Logsdon, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wilson, this city, leaves besides her husband, two brothers, Frederick Wilson, Frostburg, and Robert Wilson, Dunbar, Pa.; one sister, Mrs. John Sweringer, Connellsville, Pa.; and a half-brother, Charles Wilson.

George M. Logsdon, 81, died Sunday at 10 a.m. at his home in Stillwell. He was born Sept. 27, 1862, near Danville, the son of George and Sarah Logsdon. He was married Nov. 6, 1891 to Almeda McFadden who died in 1929. One son is also deceased. Surviving are one son, Bernard Logsdon; one daughter, Mrs. Lena Zollars, both of Stillwell; four grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Rose Catholic church at Spring Mountain with Rev. Father Eugene Dunn, Millersburg, officiating. Burial will be in Stillwell cemetery.

HYNDMAN, Pa. — George W. Logsdon, 89, died this morning at the residence of his son, Oscar Logsdon, near here. He was born July 4, 1860, in Palo Alto, a son of the late William and Mary (Burkett) Logsdon. His wife, the former Miss Harriet Mason, preceded him in death. Surviving are two other children, Irvin Logsdon, Hyndman, and Mrs. Emma Lenhart, Cumberland. The body is at the Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 p. m. in Palo Alto Church by Rev. Charles Raley. Interment will be in Cook's Mills Cemetery.

George W. Logsdon, 85, Patterson’s Creek, W.Va., died Wednesday at Dawn View Nursing Home, Fort Ashby. Born at North Branch, he was a son of the late George W. Logsdon and Margaret (Alkire) Logsdon. Mr. Logsdon had been a B&O Railroad track foreman, until retiring with 48 years of service. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way and a charter member of Patterson’s Creek Volunteer Fire Company. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Patterson’s Creek, and had served as a trustee and member of the parsonage and stewardship committees of the church. Surviving are his widow, Gladys M. (Long) Logsdon; three sons, G. Wayne Logsdon, Ladiesburg; John D. Logsdon and Gary B. Logsdon, both of Fort Ashby; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie D. Brookshire, Bowie; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home. Services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Patterson’s Creek. The Rev. James E. Shepherd II will be in charge. Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery. George W. Logsdon, 69 years old, a life-long resident of Patterson Creek, W.Va., died at his home there yesterday. Besides his wife, who was Miss Margaret Alkire, of Cumberland, to whom he was married on December 12, 1878, he is survived by five sons and two daughters – H.J. Logsdon, J.W. Logsdon, H.P. Logsdon, P.P. Logsdon, and G.W. Logsdon, Jr., Mrs. W.H. Baker and Mrs. J.D. Lechliter, the latter of Ridgeley. An adopted son, A.W. Logsdon, and nine grandchildren also survive. They are Dorothy Logsdon, Violet, Cecil and Margaret V. Hershberger, Lloyd, Francis and Marguerite Logsdon, Carlos Logsdon and Frances Lechliter. Three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Seibert, of Seibert, Md., Mrs. Nan Dowden, of Westernport, Md., and Mrs. Henry Knippenberger, Cumberland, are also survivors. Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at Frankfort, W.Va. Rev. George W. Yost, assisted by Rev. C.W. Fink, will officiate. Burial will be in Frankfort cemetery.

Born Nov. 12, 1902, in Patterson Creek, she was the daughter of the late John H. Long and Effie (Dorman) Long. She also was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Logsdon, in 1985; two daughters, Marion Logsdon and Georgie Logsdon; two sisters, Nellie (Long) Hershberger and Edith (Long) Lechliter; five brothers, Ralph Long, Robert Long, Arthur Long, Herman Long, and Wendell Long; and one granddaughter, Tammy Lou Logsdon. Mrs. Logsdon was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Patterson Creek, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women. Surviving are three sons, G. Wayne Logsdon and wife Betty, Ladiesburg, Md., John Logsdon and wife Betty, Fort Ashby, and Gary B. Logsdon and wife Carol, Route 2, Keyser; one daughter, Marjorie Brookshire and husband Jack, Bowie, Md.; one sister, Era Sherman, Frederick, Md.; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Long, Fort Ashby, and Nellie Long, Short Gap; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. LOGSDON, Mrs. Grace Haslebacher

KEYSER, WV — Grace Logsdon, 88, of Keyser, went to reunite with her family in heaven on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Heartland of Keyser. Born on Nov. 9, 1924 at Pickens, WV, in Randolph County, Grace is the daughter of the late Louis and Rosa (Betler) Haslebacher. Her husband, Robert C. Logsdon, preceded her in death on May 2, 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Louis; a sister, Lillian Clark; a brother-in-law, Charles Logsdon; father-in-law, Samuel Logsdon; mother-in-law, Maude Broom Logsdon; a nephew, Jerry Stark; and great-great-nephew, Dillon Biggs. Grace graduated in 1942 from Pickens High School. During World War II she worked at Wright Patterson Air Field. There she met her husband-to-be, Robert. After her marriage she and Robert moved to Keyser, where she began working for Perfection Garment Company and SoRite Garment Company. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Joyce Haslebacher of Clarksburg, WV; a sister-in-law, Betty Logsdon of Fountain, WV; nephews, Jeff Logsdon and wife Ena, Denny Clark and wife Lorraine, and Charles Haslebacher and wife Janet; nieces, Linda Stark, Elnora Ganoe, Sandra Hoffman, Donna Grooms, and Doris Haslebacher. Also surviving are several great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces. She was a member of Fountain Valley Homemakers Club and WMF of Fountain United Brethren Church. Grace was blessed with having several loving care givers during her time of need and wanted them to know how much she appreciated their help, Jeff and Ena Logsdon, Linda Stark, Dawn Mallow and Vicki Lewis. Although Grace and Robert did not have children of their own, her nephews and nieces brought joy and happiness to their home throughout the years and they loved them as their own. Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, WV, on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013. A funeral service will be conducted at the Fountain United Brethren Church, Headsville Road, on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daryl Elliot officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Ashby Cemetery.

Harry Centennial Logsdon, 93, of S. Washington St., Millersburg, died Wednesday afternoon at Pomerene Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born July 31, 1876 in Mechanic Township, the son of Albert Wade and Mary Jane (Patterson) Logsdon, he was a teacher in the Mechanic district schools for 18 years. He was a charter member of the Holmes County Agricultural Society and served as its secretary from 1932-1948. Logsdon was active in the Holmes County Historical Society, of which he was a charter member, and served as vice-president and president of that organization. When the Christian Businessmen's Committee was organized in 1960, he was one of the charter members and had been active in promoting the interests of the organization until ill health prevented his attendance. He belonged to the United Methodist Church. He was married Oct. 10, 1900 to Adah L. Finley, who preceded him in death in 1954. He then married Laura J. Deetz on Sept. 5, 1962 who survives. Also surviving are one son, Wade, of Millersburg Route 3; two granddaughters, Mrs. Charlotte Logsdon Mullet, Millersburg, and Mrs. Sam Paul, Red Oak, Tex.; and one great-grandson, Nick Mullet, Loudonville. One son, Emmett, preceded him in death in 1932. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Ralph Hollingsworth officiating at the Elliott-Hartline Funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening.

LOGSDON, Mrs Hattie Clair Mitchell, nee Smith

Hyndman, Pa., July 23 - Mrs. Hattie Clair Logsdon, 72, was instantly killed yesterday afternoon when struck by an eastbound Baltimore and Ohio Railroad passenger train here. Dr. John A. Topper, deputy coroner, said death was accidental. Mrs. Logsdon, a native of Green Ridge, east of Cumberland, was crossing from the south to the north side of the triple tracks about three blocks from her home when she was struck, apparently by the steps leading from the cab of the locomotive. The train stopped after dragging the woman's body a short distance. Her face was badly mutilated and her left leg was fractured. A daughter of the late Harvey and Rachel Smith of Green Ridge, Mrs. Logsdon was first married to Dr. H. E. Mitchell who died a number of years ago. She was later married to William Logsdon, Hyndman, who died about a year ago. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. William Lourant, Quicksburg, Va.; Mrs. Ralph Hillegass, Baltimore; Mrs. Edward Flemone, San Diego, Cal.; Mrs. Stella Dunn, and Mrs. James Zollner, Cumberland; one son, Cecil Mitchell, Hancock.

CRESAPTOWN — Herbert L. Logsdon, 52, a former resident, died yesterday of a heart attack at his home in Front Royal, Va. He had been in ill health for a year. A native of Mt. Savage, he was a son of James Logsdon, Eckhart, and the late Sophia (Michael) Logsdon. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Flora (Hansel) Logsdon; a son, Harold Logsdon, Westernport; a daughter, Mrs. Leona Fazenbaker, Cresaptown; three brothers, Olin Logsdon, Ridgeley; Louis Logsdon, Mount Clemens, Mich., and Marshall Logsdon, Mt. Savage; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Catherman, Eckhart, and six grandchildren. The body will arrive tomorrow and be taken to the Hafer Funeral Home, Frostburg.

FROSTBURG — Hiram Logsdon, 96, who resided with his niece, Miss Alma Logsdon, of 26 Depot Street here, died yesterday in Miners Hospital where he had been admitted after a fall in his residence. He was the oldest resident of Frostburg, and was retired from the Berkowitz Company. Mr. Logsdon was a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church and had served on the administrative board. Twice married, his first wife Frances (Wilson) Logsdon, and his second wife, Margaret (Dickey) Logsdon, both preceded him in death. He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home.

District highway accidents over the weekend claimed the lives of three persons, and at least a dozen other persons were injured. Dead are James E. Logsdon, 80-year-old Eckhart resident, who was killed instantly early yesterday morning when struck by a car operated by Ronald Glenn Harden, of Morantown; Mrs. Betty Ruth (Price) Malone, 31, of near Fort Ashby, and Lloyd Earl Johnson, 7, of Morgantown. Tfc. Donald R. Wade said the Harden car struck the elderly man as he was crossing the highway at the Route 40-Frog Hollow Road intersection. Logsdon was struck by the right front fender of the vehicle and hurled against a guardrail along the highway. The body of Logsdon, a retired Baltimore and Ohio Railroad employe, is at the Hafer Funeral Home, Frostburg, where services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p. m. by Rev. Brooks Henry, pastor of Eckhart Baptist Church. Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. His wife was the late Mrs. Sophia (Michaels) Logsdon. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clair Catherman, with whom he resided; three sons, Olen B. Logsdon, Ridgeley; Louis Logsdon, Mt. Clemens, Mich., and Marshall Logsdon, Mt. Savage; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Junior OUAM Lodge.

BARTON “John D. Logsdon, 58, died Friday at his home following an illness of four years. Born in Barton, he was a son of the late William and Mary A. Logsdon. He was a retired government employee, having worked in the Panama Canal Zone as an electrician. He held membership in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pauline (Waring) Logsdon, a son, Dr. J.G. Logsdon, Arbutus, Md.; two brothers, Charles Logsdon, Alexandria, Va., and William Logsdon, Barton, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Howell and Mrs. Charles Howell, both of Barton. The body is at the residence, where the rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. A requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 at St. Gabriel's Church. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.”

"John L. Logsdon, 63, was fatally shot Feb. 1 during an apparent robbery attempt in the parking lot of the Government Printing Office, where he had worked as a pressman since 1963. D.C. police said he was pronounced dead at the Washington Hospital Center. Investigators said Andre Durell Malone of Washington was arrested Feb. 4 and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the incident. Police said their investigation was continuing. Mr. Logsdon, who lived in Silver Spring, was born in Barton, Md. He served in the Army in Europe during World War II. After the war, he became a pressman with Judd & Detweiler, a printing company, and remained there until he joined the GPO. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Hyattsville. His wife, Helen, died in 1973. Survivors include two children, Linda Mollet of Gaithersburg, and Donna Capps of Canyon Lake, Calif.; two brothers, James, of Washington, and Hugh, of Landover; three sisters, Anna Manuel of Edgewater, Md., Marie Rector, of Pennsylvania and Virginia Fawbush, of Cheverly, Md., and three grandchildren."

Baltimore - On May 14, 1998, John W. Logsdon, 74, of Baltimore, beloved husband of Ruth M. Logsdon (nee McKeel) passed away. He was the loving father of Linda Putsche, Lana Rutherford, Lisa Kristaponis and John B. Logsdon; and the loving grandfather of Christopher Putsche, Kara and Brian Kristponis, Daniel Rutherford and John M. Logsdon; the Dear Brother of Rita Hartley, Marianne McGreevy, Eleanor Sheally, Monica Mason, Patrick K. Logsdon and the late Patricia Keyes. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 1998, at 1 p.m., at Our Lady of Victory Church, 4414 Wilkens Ave., Baltimore, MD 21229. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Victory Church.

FROSTBURG - Joseph F. Logsdon, 85, of 26 Depot Street, died at his residence yesterday. He was born in Eckhart, son of the late Moses and Anna (Rhinehart) Logsdon. His wife, Ada (Deffibaugh) Logsdon preceded him in death. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Eva Arnold, Keyser; Mrs. Virginia Dougherty, Hyattsville; Miss Alma Logsdon, at home; two sons, Franklin Logsdon, Largo, Fla.; Vonder Logsdon, Corfu, N. Y.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and one brother, Hiram Logsdon, Frostburg. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where friends will received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home by Rev. Harold B. Wright, and interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

"Death of Miss Logsdon - Miss Kate Logsdon died last night at 9 o'clock at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Edward Mackert, German street. Miss Logsdon was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Logsdon, of Corrigansville. She worked at Mr. Footer's dye works. She was taken ill about two weeks ago with typhoid pneumonia. She was 24 years of age. Her sister, Mrs. Mackert, is lying critically ill. The deceased was a member of St. Patrick's church. The funeral will take place on Monday at 9 o'clock. The interment will be in St. Patrick's cemetery. The funeral will be in charge of Director Stein."

Mrs. Elijah Logsdon, 76, Millersburg Route 2, died Monday at 2 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard Zeller, Cleveland, as the result of a heart attack. Mrs. Logsdon was visiting her daughter at the time of her death. She was born April 25, 1866, in Coshocton county, the daughter of William and Mary Sutherland. She was married to Elijah Logsdon, Feb. 9, 1886. He survives. Also surviving are a son, William Logsdon of Millersburg Route 2; Mrs. Zeller; two brothers, William Sutherland of Millersburg, and James Sutherland of Belleville, Mich.; and one grandson. She was a member of the Bethel U. B. church. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p. m. at the Elliott Funeral home, with Rev. Howe, Sugarcreek, officiating. Burial will be in Millersburg cemetery.

STRINGTOWN, Pa. - Leona M. Logsdon, 79, of Childress Road, Dandrige, Tenn., formerly of Stringtown, south of Hyndman, died on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at the home of her daughter, Thelma D. MacDonald, with whom she resided. Born on June 21, 1925, in Crystal Spring, Md., she was a daughter of the late Edward C. and Ollie M. (Smith) Swauger. She was also preceded in death by Timothy F. Logsdon, her husband of 50 years, in 1992; brothers, George and Sam Swauger; and sister, Alvernace Gibbner. Surviving are children, Jack E. Logsdon and wife Norma (Leydig), Cape Coral, Fla., and Thelma D. MacDonald and husband Rodney Moon, Dandrige; half-brother, Harry Hutzell, Meyersdale; sister-in-law, Sarah Hutzell, Hyndman; aunt, Ella Cook, Meyersdale; grandchildren, Edward Logsdon and wife Teresa, Virginia, Sherry Nicol and husband Wayne, Lonaconing, Kim Imler and husband "Pete," Kennells Mill, Angela Miller, Sevierville, Tenn., Timothy Miller and wife Pam, Tampa, Fla., and Jackie Miller, Buffalo, N.Y.; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Aliesha Kennell. Mrs. Logsdon was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hyndman Senior Citizens. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Marlene Logsdon, 33, Redlands, Calif., a former Holmes County resident, accidentally drowned in the family pool at her home Thursday. Born August 13, 1932 in Holmes County, she was the daughter of Lela A. Robinson and the late Bernard T. Logsdon. Miss Logsdon was a graduate of Killbuck High School and had attended Rio Grande College Scarrett College in Memphis, Tenn. At the time of her death, she was enrolled at Redlands University. She had taught school at Howard and Bellefontaine, and had spent three years as a missionary at Roxas City in the Philippine Islands. Miss Logsdon, who had also been a teacher in Redlands, had resided in that city since 1962. She was active in the Footlighters group and had been a member of Riley Chapel (Wolf Creek) parish, Holmes County, and Redlands Presbyterian Church. Surviving besides her mother, is a sister, Mrs. James (Karen) McComas of Wooster. A brother is deceased. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stillwell Church in Holmes County by Rev. Hubert Cagwin. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

MT. SAVAGE - Marshall Logsdon, 66, of Slabtown Road, died Saturday in Memorial Hospital where he had been admitted December 29. He had been in failing health several years. He was a constable-at-large in Allegany County and a former employe at Amcelle plant of Celanese Fibers Company. He was born in Eckhart, a son of the late James E. and Sophia (Michaels) Logsdon. Mr. Logsdon is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna M. (Bridges) Logsdon; three daughters, Mrs. Marcella Aldridge, Mt. Savage; Mrs. Helen Uncapher, Bowling Green, and Mrs. Joan Clauson, Corriganville; two sons, Edward P. and Louis K. Logsdon, Mt. Savage; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Catherman, Eckhart; two brothers, Louis Logsdon, Waterford, Mich., and Olen B. Logsdon, Rawlings; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Logsdon, died yesterday at her home here following a recent illness. a native of Scotland, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha McGimpsey and came here with her parents 87 years ago. She was a member of Barton Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles Howell and Mrs. Henry Howell, both of Barton; three sons, John P. Logsdon, Barton, William Logsdon, Barton, and Charles S. Logsdon, Arlington, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Snyder and Mrs. Ella McCutcheon, both of Washington, 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The body is at the residence. Mrs. Mary B. Logsdon died at her home, 202 N. Washington st., Millersburg, Monday evening after several months' illness. She was 78. She was the daughter of John and Rebecca Findlay, and had lived in and near Millersburg all her life. She was married twice, first to Melvin P. McKee, who died in 1882, and again, in 1890, to A. W. Logsdon, who died in 1925. Surviving are a son, Melvin Findlay McKee of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Erma Gindlesperger of Millersburg route three; stepchildren, Harry Logsdon, Mrs. Grace Fair and Victor Logsdon; three sisters, Mrs. Allie Farver and Mrs. Della Aultman, both of Millersburg; and Mrs. Gertrude Patterson, of Holmesville; a brother, the Rev. Harry J. Findlay, Mediapolis, Iowa; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two children preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Hunter funeral home in Millersburg in charge of the Rev. D. M. Harness, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, of which Mrs. Logsdon was a member. Burial will be in Millersburg cemetery.

Boal's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Born in Westernport she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Morgan) Dieling and was the widow of James Clement Logsdon who died in 1965. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ellen Nasser, Westernport; a brother, George Dieling, Barton; a sister, Mrs. Ann Broadwater, Glen Burnie, Md. and two grandchildren.

KEYSER, W.Va. - Maude E. (Broome) Logsdon, 97, a resident of Heartland of Keyser, formerly of RD 2, Keyser, died Thursday, April 29, 1993 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser. Born April 23, 1896 in Piedmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Ella (Yost) Logsdon (sic: Broome?). Mrs. Logsdon was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Logsdon on March 24, 1971. She was a member of the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church; Olive Temple, Pythian Sisters, Keyser; B & O veterans; and Mineral County Senior Citizens. Surviving are two sons, Charles L. and wife Betty Logsdon, Keyser, and Robert C. and wife Grace, Keyser; granddaughter, Linda S. Stark; grandson, Jeff L. Logsdon; five great-grandchildren, Josh, Jaime, Kylie, Cortney, and Tyler. Friends will be received at the Markwood-McKenzie Funeral Home, Keyser, Friday and Saturday. Services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Dean officiating. Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.

Mrs Logsdon is survived by one son, Walter D. with whom she was living; one daughter, Mrs Daniel Everline, Wellersburg, W.Va., one brother, William T. Taylor of Mt. Vernon, O., and two sisters, Mrs Charles T. Miller, Corrigansville, Md and Mrs John Critchfield, Braddock, Pa., fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Nannie E. Logsdon, 70, of Manns Choice RD 1, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Willa Mae Hillegass, where she had resided for a number of years, Sunday, December 12, 1971. Born September 5, 1901, at Fairhope RD, Somerset County, she was the daughter of Henry and Katie (Kiser) Browning. Her husband, Clyde Logsdon, preceded her in death in 1947. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Hillegass are the following children, Mrs. Gladys Dietz of Manns Choice RD 1, Mrs. Beverly Ann Nicodemus of Mill Hall RD 1, Harry H. of Hyndman, George F. of Atwood, Illinois, and Robert A. Logsdon of Pittsburgh. Thirty-three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and these sisters, Mrs. Blanche Shaffer of Hyndman, Mrs. Mattie Hartman of Jeannette, Mrs. Ella Smith of Fairhope RD 1, Mrs. Ruth Clites of Manns Choice RD 1, and Mrs. Bertha Shaw of East Freedom, also survive. Mrs. Logsdon was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Hyndman. Funeral services: Wednesday, December 15, at 2 p.m., from the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with the Rev. David T. Sustar, pastor of the Manns Choice Church of God, officiating. Burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Fairhope RD.

FORT ASHBY, W.Va. —Nathaniel Alan Logsdon, 3, of Fort Ashby, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Sept. 25, 1997, in Morgantown, he was the son of Alan T. and Becky G. (Peer) Logsdon. Nathaniel was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He attended preschool at the Romney School for the Deaf. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Loni G. Peer and David O. Peer, Ridgeley; his paternal grandparents Gary B. Logsdon and Carol J. Logsdon, Fort Ashby; maternal great-grandparents, Richard and Faith Bible, Flintstone, and Robert and Ruth Peer, Ridgeley; uncles and aunts, Jeff and Angie Logsdon, Tom and Jennifer Logsdon and Cheryl Amoroso, all of Fort Ashby; and godparents, Dana and Craig Norris, Mount Savage. Nathaniel was also blessed with loving great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and special friends. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Fort Ashby, on Wednesday. Noah J. Logsdon, 79, of 21 Central Avenue, died yesterday at Baker VA Center, Martinsburg, W. Va., where he had been a patient six months. Born in Bedford County, he was a son of the late Moses and Ellen (Emerick) Logsdon. Mr. Logsdon had attended the United Methodist Church. He was retired after 27 years as a shearman with the B&O Railroad, was an Army veteran of World War I, and a member of Henry Hart Post 1411, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Cumberland Aerie 245, FO Eagles. Surviving are his widow, Laura (Wiles) Logsdon; a daughter, Mrs. James Payne, Hyattsville; a son, John R. Logsdon, Martinsburg; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Sarver, Hyndman; four brothers, Clarence, Carl, Earl and Emanuel Logsdon, all of Hyndman, and five grandchildren. The body is at the Kight Funeral Home where friends will received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there tomorrow at 2 p.m. by Rev. William Walker. Interment will be in St. Luke's Cemetery. FOE 245 will hold a memorial service at the funeral home today at 7:30 p.m.

Orman J. Logsdon, 84, formerly of Mt. Savage and Cumberland, died yesterday at his home, 3133 Guilford Avenue, Baltimore. Born in Maryland, he was a retired grocer, and a son of the late Meshack and Marian (Speelman) Logsdon. His wife, Sarah D. (Lehman) Logsdon, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Phillip's and James Church, Baltimore. Surviving are a son, J. Bernard Logsdon of Baltimore; one brother, Robert Logsdon of Glen Burnie; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body will be returned here tomorrow to the Stein Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a. m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. John U. Lyness, assistant pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Oscar Meldin Logsdon, aged 67, died at his home in Hyndman, Rt. 1, on Thursday, March 31, 1955. He was a Kelly-Springfield employee by occupation. He was born at Hyndman, Rt. 1, March 27, 1888, the son of George and Hattie (Mason) Logsdon. He was married to Mary H. Shroyer on May 28, 1914. He is survived by his wife and these children: Floyd, Ellerslie; Mrs. Arvilla Lowery, Ellerslie; Mrs. Goldie Wilkins and Mrs. Minnie Troutman, Hyndman, Rt. 1; Jean, at home. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Emma Lenhart, Cumberland, and four grandchildren. Membership was held in the Evangelical United Brethren church at Palo Alto. Funeral services: Sunday afternoon, April 3, at 2 o'clock at the Zeigler funeral home, Hyndman, the Rev. Charles Haley officiating. Interment in Porter cemetery. Mrs. Ottllie (Filsinger) Logsdon, 85, widow of Olin Logsdon, formerly of Eckhart, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Viola Coder, Ridgeley. Survivors include three other daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Eckhart, Frostburg; Mrs. Annie Blank, Eckhart, and Mrs. Sarah Haley, Akron: two sons, Samuel Logsdon, Ridgeley, and Enoch Logsdon, Eckhart: a sister, Mrs. Mary Mills, Keyser; a brother, Philip Filsinger, Deer Park; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home, Frostburg, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be held there Sunday at 2 p. m. with Rev. Paul V. Taylor officiating. Burial will take place in Porter Cemetery at Eckhart.

Parker P. Logsdon, 72, Patterson Creek, died Monday at Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient three weeks. Born in Patterson Creek, he was a son of the late George W. and Margaret (Alkire) Logsdon. He was a retired signalman for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church, Patterson Creek, and the Brotherhood of Signalmen. Surviving are his widow, Bertha (Baker) Logsdon; three brothers, H. P. and G. W. Logsdon, both of Patterson Creek, and A. W. Logsdon, Jefferson, Pa., and two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Baker and Mrs. Ida Lechliter, both of Patterson Creek. The body is at the Silcox Funeral Residence, where services will be held tomorrow with the Rev. Richard Longbon. Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Bradfield, Robert Bradfield, Robert Holler, Justin Ratcliff, John Dale Logsdon and Herbert Baker.

Frostburg - Patrick Kenny Logsdon, 62, of Frostburg, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at home. Born Dec 2, 1936, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late Daniel and Mae (Barry) Logsdon. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Keyes; one brother, Jack Logsdon; and his special grandfather, Commodore Barry. Mr. Logsdon was District President of PPG, United Glass and Ceramics Workers Union & United Steel Workers Association. He was a graduate of Valley High School and Potomac State College. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, and was Past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge #470. He was an avid golfer and a member of Maplehurst Country Club. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #348, K of C Council #1442, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #1273, sons of American Legion Post #24, and Wamba Caravan #89 Inc., Order of Alhambra. Surviving are his wife, Sally (Kreitzburg) Logsdon; one son, Patrick Kenny Logsdon, Jr., Frostburg; two daughters, Mary Lynn Logsdon, Washington, D.C., and Sandra Kay Logsdon, Flanders, N.J.; one grandson, Jonathan Patrick Logsdon; and four sisters, Rita Hartley, Monica Mason and Mary "Bootie" McGreevy, all of Dunedin, Fla., and Eleanor Sheely, Mountain Lake Park. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Phyllis V. Logsdon, 74, of Hyndman RD 1, died Thursday, May 25, 1989, at her home. She was born Jan. 24, 1915, in Ellerslie, Md., a daughter of the late Ira Amick and Isabella (Emerick) Amick Chatain. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Logsdon, who died Dec. 12,1985. Surviving are a son, Harlan E. Brooke of Cumberland, Md.; and a daughter Mrs. Victoria A. Knaub of York; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rachel Logsdon, aged 84 years, of Mt. Savage, <Md., died at the Miners' Hospital, Frostburg, last Friday morning. She was one of the oldest residents of that section, having been a nurse at the Clarysville Hospital during the Civil War. She was the widow of Anthony Logsdon. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. John Grabenstein, Mrs. Alice France, Mrs. Harriet Crabtree, MRs. Herman Steele, Mrs. Andrew Cross, and one son, William Logsdon. She alos leaves 30 grandchildren and 20 great-granchildren. Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock at St. Patrick's church, Mt. Savage, with interment at Porter cemetery, Eckhart.

BEDFORD - Robert Logsdon, formerly of Spring Street, died suddenly Friday at his home in Eustis, Fla. Born in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Edward and Ada (Murray) Logsdon. His wife, Alma (Tyler) Logsdon, died in 1958. Mr. Logsdon formerly was emloyed at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company plant in Cumberand. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Betty Sheirer, Bedford; Edward and Ronald Logsdon, both of Baltimore, and Robert Logsdon Jr., Everett, and a brother, Dewain Logsdon, Manns Choice. The body is at the Geisel Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there tomorrow at 2 p.m. by Rev. Richard Younker. Robert C. Logsdon, 79, of Schellsburg Street, Hyndman, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1993, at the Cumberland (Md.) Memorial Hospital. He was born March 18, 1914, in Hyndman, a son of the late Charles and Nellie (Shaffer) Logsdon. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rachel Grace (Pensyl) Logsdon; two sons, Robert Clark Logsdon of Somerset and Charles Ray Logsdon of Orange Park, Fla.; and five grandchildren. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by a brother, Victor, and a sister, Iva Logsdon. Mr. Logsdon retired in 1976 after 27 years' service with the U.S. Postal Service. He worked mainly at the Somerset Post Office. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. Mr. Logsdon was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Hyndman and the Oscar Jordan Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7375 in Hyndman. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Harvey H. Ziegler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with the Rev. Ruth S. Kershner officiating. Burial in Hyndman Cemetery. Friends at funeral home 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. KEYSER — Robert C. Logsdon, 78, of Keyser, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser. Born on Jan. 24, 1923 in Keyser, he was the son of the late Samuel Lee and Maude Ellen (Broome) Logsdon. Mr. Logsdon was retired as a carman and inspector with the B&O Railroad with 10 years of service. He was a member of the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church where he was also active with “Seniors on the Move.” A 1941 graduate of Keyser High School, he was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was a prisoner of war in Romania. He was also a member of the Boyce Houser Post 41, American Legion, Keyser. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Grace (Haslebacher) Logsdon; one brother, Charles Lee Logsdon and wife Betty (Taylor), Keyser; one niece, Linda S. Stark and husband Jerry, Keyser; one nephew, Jeffrey Lee Logsdon and wife Ena, Keyser; two grandnephews, Josh and Tyler; three grandnieces, Jaime, Kylie and Cortney. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday. Funeral services will be conducted at the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church on Saturday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. KEYSER — Samuel Lee Logsdon, 76, of Keyser, died yesterday at Potomac Valley Hospital. A native of Patterson's Creek, he was a son of the late Andrew and Magdalena (Herrick) Logsdon. A retired B & O Railroad carman, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, B & O Veterans Association, Senior Citizens of Keyser, Queens Point IOOF Lodge 78, Mt. Olive Rebekahs 31, and of Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church. Surviving are his widow, Maude Ellen (Broome) Logsdon; two sons, Charles L. and Robert C. Logsdon, RD 2; two brothers, Elias Logsdon, Glen Shaw, Pa., and Andrew William Logsdon, Jefferson, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Fertig, RD 1; Mrs. Mary Jenkins, Wardensville, and Mrs. Lena Twigg, Patterson's Creek; and two grandchildren. Born in Bedford County, she was a daughter of Espy and Elizabeth (McMahon) Lehman. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Survivors include one son, J. Bernard Logsdon, Baltimore; one brother, James Lehman, Keeoughton, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Rose L. Lindner, with whom she resided; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Thomas Irvin Logsdon, 65, former resident, died yesterday at his home, RD 1, Hyndman, Pa. He had been in ill health for some time. Mr. Logsdon resided on Fairmont Avenue from 1936 until 1957. A native of Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Emma J. (Burley) Logsdon. Mr. Logsdon was a farmer and retired coal dealer and was a member of Wills Creek Methodist Chapel. Surviving are his widow, Helen L. (Rowe) Logsdon; a daughter, Miss Mary Jane Logsdon, at home; three sons, Thomas, Robert and James Logsdon, all at home; a brother, Timothy Logsdon, RD 1, Keyser, W. Va., and three sisters, Misses Esther, Mary and Delilah Logsdon, all of RD 1, Hyndman. HYNDMAN, Pa. — Timothy F. Logsdon, 77, of Stringtown, RD 1, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1992 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born October 16, 1914 at Stringtown, he was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Emma Jane (Burley) Logsdon. He was the last surviving member of the immediate family. Mr. Logsdon was a retired self-employed carpenter and attended the Central Assembly of God Church, Cumberland. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Leona M. (Swauger) Logsdon; one son, Jack E. Logsdon, Hyndman; one daughter, Thelma D. MacDonald, Franklin, N.C.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. The Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, is in charge of arrangements. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at the Porter Cemetery, near Ellerslie, Md., by the Rev. J. Gary Butler.

Victor Albert Logsdon, 63, a native of Holmes county, died Sunday at his home in Lima. He was born Feb. 11, 1883, in Mechanic township. Holmes county, the son of Albert Wade and Mary Jane Logsdon. Surviving are one brother, Harry C. Logsdon, Millersburg Route 3; one sister, Mrs. N. N. Fair, Millersburg, and one half-sister, Mrs. Irma Gindlesberger, Lakeville. Funeral services will be held from the Hunter funeral home on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. and burial will be in the Millersburg cemetery.

Walter Daniel Logsdon, 65, died last night at his home, 136 West Third street. A native of Corriganville, Mr. Logsdon was a retired mail carrier. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World, Knights of Pythias, (unreadable), Patriotic Sons of America, Junior Order of United American Mechanics, and of Queen City Branch No. 38, and National Association of Letter Carriers. Surviving are a son, W. C. Logsdon, with the Army overseas; Mrs. Leola Clark, Cumberland; four grandchildren, among them Glore F. Martin, with the Army overseas; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Everline, Corriganville. The body will remain at the home. Arrangements have not been made.

PINTO - Walter D. "Ike" Logsdon Sr., 64, of the Lions Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Pinto, died Saturday, May 22, 1993, at Lions Manor. Born April 19, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late Walter Charles Logsdon and Freda Lucille (LaBelle) Logsdon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Irene Logsdon, in 1986. Mr. Logsdon was the manager of the Oldtown Road Paint and Body Shop and former manager of the L&T Body Shop. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Livingstone Church of the Brethren, and well-known drummer for many local bands. Surviving are three sons, Walter D. Logsdon Jr., and wife Deborah, Hagerstown; Robert M. Logsdon, and wife Lorraine, Cumberland; and David L. Logsdon, Cumberland; two daughters, Sherry L. Beitzel, and husband Ronald, Cumberland; and Laura L. Jedlowski, and husband, David; Cumberland; one sister, La Verne Trexler, Cumberland; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Livingstone Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Timothy Monn. Interment will be in the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the combined military honor guard.

Saturday morning death claimed William Logsdon, who had been ill with typhoid fever at his home in Hyndman, aged 23 years. Mr. Logsdon was recently manned to Miss Bessie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Aberle, of Hyndman. Besides the bereaved wife, Mr. Logsdon is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Logsdon, of Ellerslie, Md., and the following brothers: Charles of Hyndman, John of Ellerslie and Franklin, who resides at Garrett. Mr. Logsdon was a member of the United Evangelical church and was a young man who was greatly admired by all who knew him. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon and interment made in Hyndman Cemetery.

"Barton - William Logsdon, 77, died last night after an illness of six weeks. A native of Barton, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Buskirk) Logsdon. He was a coal miner for 60 years and was a member of the Frostburg Aerie of F. O. Eagles. His widow, Mrs. Mary Ann (McGimpsey) Logsdon, to whom he was married for 54 years on New Year's Eve, survives, along with six sons, James and William, at home; Lloyd, Lonaconing; John D., Panama; Alvin, Barton, and Charles, Washington, D. "William T. Logsdon, 66, of 210 Greene Street, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital where he was admitted Sunday. He had been in failing health the past several years. Born in Lonaconing, he was a son of Mrs. Margaret (Helmstetler) Logsdon, city, and the late Stanley Logsdon. Mr. Logsdon was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He retired in 1958 as superintendent of Cumberland Baltimore & Ohio backshops after 42 years service. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Helena M.
