The boy and a cousin reportedly stopped at the tank while on their way home after helping with farm work at the home of a neighbor. David's cousin ran to the home of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Logsdon, to tell them David was in the tank. Surviving besides the parents are five sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Hammond of Brinkhaven, Mrs. Dorothy Helms of Butler, Mrs. Mary Alice Fronsman of Killbuck, Donna Lou and Sharon A. of the home.
