MACKLEY, Walter and Henry
As the result of a defective gas stove and no ventilation, two young railroad men lost their lives here last Tuesday. They dead men were brothers, Walter Mackley, aged 27 years, who married a daughter of Joseph Idleman, of Mt. Storm, who survives with one daughter, and are staying at the home of her father. The other was Henry Mackley, single, aged 24 years. They were both from the section of Mt. Storm, in Grant Co, but in their younger days lived at Sulphur City. They were both firemen on the third division of the B&O RR and had been on the road over a year. They boarded at Carnell's boarding house on W. Piedmont St. It seems that they came in from the road, one at 12 and the other at 10 o'clock, and went to bed, leaving the gas stove burning very high with no ventilation in the room. When some of the family went to get them up for super, a little past six o'clock, they were both dead, and from appearances had been dead for some hours. The bodies were taken to Markwood's undertaking rooms and prepared for burial. Squire J. T. Doyle, acting as coroner, held an inquest and the jury returned a verdict that the men had come to their death by monoxide created by a gas stove burning too high in a room without ventilation. Joseph Idleman, father-in-law of Walter Mackley, came down Wednesday to look after his remains, and yesterday morning both bodies were taken to Mt. Storm for burial. They belonged to the railroad men's brotherhood, a committee of whom assisted in looking after the care and removal of the bodies.

He Falls from His Train Near Patterson's Creek and is Instantly Killed - A Very Sad Affair.
This afternoon about 3 o'clock Mr. Frank Madore, a well known and highly respected young workman of this city, met a most horrible death by being run over by the cars. At the above mentioned place there is being a new bridge erected and it is necessary to slow up when passing. He was walking along the train toward the engine when he slipped and fell between the cars, the train passing across his body, crushing him so badly as to cause instant death. Some men saw the accident and the trained was stopped. The body was brought to this city on passenger train No. 15 and taken in charge by Undertaker Butler who will prepare the body for burial. Mr. Madore is the brother of (unreadable) L. Clark Madore, a well known shoe merchant and Police Officer S. Othe Madore. He also leaves a widow mother and three sisters, Misses Louisa, Lizzie and Pricilla. As yet no arrangements for the funeral have been made.

MADORE, Ruth
A most promising young life came to its worldly end this morning with the death of Miss Ruth Madore, the beautiful and talented daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Clarke Madore, Bedford street. Miss Madore fell a victim to typhoid fever about two weeks ago. She succumbed to its ravages this morning at 6' o'clock. Seldom has the death of a young person brought so many expressions of regret as did the announcement today of the death of Miss Madore. Persons who did not know her in person, but knew of her sterling character and worth were to be heard speaking words of sorrow at the death of one so young and whose life gave so much promise. Miss Madore was 21 years old. She was a graduate of Allegany County High School, class of 1907, and later of State Normal School, Frostburg. Last year she taught in Pennsylvania Avenue School under Prof. Geo. J. Tipton, and would have returned there this fall. She was a member of Centre Street M. E. Church and very active in all its work, a member of the choir and superintendent of the Junior Epworth League. She is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. L. Clarke Madore, a sister, Miss Edith Madore, and by two aunts who made their home on Bedford street, Miss Louisa and Miss Zillah Madore. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
