My big brick wall is my "Raley Patriarch"(1819-1860); Simon/Sam was German born, came here in 1830s and married Mary Ann Ruckle, d/o Henry Ruckle and Catherine Stark. He had 6 kids and died young. He is definitely German, not the Irish or English Raleys in area. Name was more likely Raihle, Rehle, Raill. Also, I am current Registrar for Youghiogheny Glades, NSDAR and will gladly help people with applications.

For the past 10 or 12 years I have been researching the following families who are either directly related to me or to my wife. Historically some of these families migrated to Mount Savage and the George's Creek area from Franklin and Cumberland Cos., PA; Ireland, and Scotland. Descendants of a couple of these families subsequently migrated to Gilmer County, West Virginia and westward to Ohio and beyond as land and other opportunities became available.
