[Note: in the 1900 census, Annie says she is the mother of 18 children with 15 still living. However in the newspaper article, she indicates she is the mother of 16 children]

Spouse names came from personal knowledge. Ada Marie is my grandmother and I knew her twin, Aunt Oma and her spouse "Uncle Hokey" Charles J. Wolfe.

Some of the names and birthdates for Annie Louise and George Layman's children were taken from the 1880 Census.

*Note:The 1880 census lists the names Curtin/Curtis and Trevor/Trewer (illegible) having the same birthdates as Robert (and later "James") and Benjamin. Since the names are not repeated in the later census, we will assume for the time being that the correct names are Robert (James) and Benjamin.  Another possibility is that there were additional twins born who perhaps died before the 1900 census.
