MT. SAVAGE — Mrs. Rellie Krabbenhoft, 88, of here, died yesterday at Frostburg Community Hospital where she had been a patient since March 28. Born at Mt. Savage, she was a daughter of the late Stewart and Sophia (Winebrenner) Winebrenner. Mrs. Krabbenhoft was twice married and both her husbands, Daniel Jones and Henry Krabbenhoft, preceded her in death. She was a member of Mt. Savage United Methodist Church, the Auxiliary of Old Rail Post 6025. Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Mt. Savage Volunteer Fire Company. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Harden, of here, and Mrs. May Arthur, Frostburg; a brother, George Winebrenner, of here; five grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m.

OLDTOWN - Mary L. Krampf, 71, of Pack Horse Trail, Route 1, Oldtown, died Sunday, March 14, 1993 at Memorial Hospital. Born April 17, 1921 in Wellersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank L. Bucy, Sr., and Myrtle E. (Barnes) Bucy. She was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Mrs. Krampf was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Romney Chapter #89; Ladies Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles #245; Senior Citizens; Western Maryland Central Labor Council AFL-CIO; Ladies Auxiliary Oldtown V.F.W. #9451; Women of the Moose Chapter #0914; and Ladies Auxiliary of Cumberland Outdoor Club. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Robert L. Krampf; one son, James N. DuVall, Jr., Cumberland; three daughters, Connie E. Winebrenner, Hancock; Sandra Kay Hutzell, Hyndman, and Deborah A. DuVall, Fort Ashby, W.Va.; three brothers; four sisters; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and one stepdaughter, Rebecca R. Carr, Ellerslie. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Ellerslie United Methodist Church. KRAMPF, Robert Leonard

CUMBERLAND — Robert Leonard Krampf, 87, of, Cumberland died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Devlin Manor Nursing Home. Born Feb. 6, 1925 in Ridgeley, W.Va., he was the son of the late Emil Henry Krampf and Nannie Pearl (Barry) Krampf. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Louise (Ott) Krampf; his second wife, Mary Louise (Bucy) Krampf; his son-in-law, Harry Carr Sr.; a step-daughter, Connie Winebrenner; a sister, Evelyn Krampf; and five brothers, Francis, Charles, Ralph, Emil, and Bill Krampf. He had worked at the Old Export Brewery. Mr. Krampf was retired from PPG, where he had been a boiler house operator. He belonged to the Cumberland Outdoor Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 245. Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca R. Carr, Lonaconing; his step-children, James DuVall Jr., Cumberland, Sandra K. Hutzell, and husband George, Hyndman, Pa. and Deborah DuVall, and husband Jack Humbertson, Baltimore. There are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. The service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ken L. Korns officiating. Interment will be in Cooks Cemetery.

KRANTZ, Mrs. Lucille Engle

WESTERNPORT — Mrs. Lucille Krantz, 59, widow of Arthur Krantz, 203 Vine Street, died this morning in Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, where she underwent an operation yesterday. A native of Piedmont, Mrs. Krantz resided in the Tri-Towns section all her life. She was a daughter of the late Dr. Lewis and Susan A, (Fectig) Engle. Her husband died in 1938. Mrs. Krantz was a graduate of the Dental Hygiene Department, Rochester, N. Y. Before her marriage, she was employed as a dental hygienjst at schools in Morgantown and Charleston, W.Va. She was former chairman of the Westernport-Lukc Chapter of the Red Cross for five years. Mrs. Krantz served as librarian of the Westernport-Luke Civic Club, and for two years had been employed as a social worker in the Oesterien Home for Children, Springfield, Ohio. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church here and the Missionary Society of the congregation. Surviving are a brother, Dr. Lewis F. Engle, and a sister, Miss Ethel A. Engle, both of Westernport. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the residence. The body will be placed in Rose Hill mausoleum, Cumberland.

Frostburg, February 21 - Many were the expressions of regret heard at this place yesterday afternoon upon receipt of the word of the death of Mrs. Daniel Krapf, Jr., nee Mary Jane Thomas at her home in Eckhart at 2:30 p. m., from a complication of diseases. Mrs. Krapf was born in 1860. She is survived by her husband and father, Mr. Jos. B. Thomas, for many years the foreman for the Consolidated Coal Co. at Hoffman mines, five sisters, viz. Mrs. H. S. Eckhart and Mrs. H. E. Colburn of this place, Mrs. Frederick Metzger of Lutherville, Md., and Misses Nellie and Lillian; and one brother, Mr. Jas. Thomas of Eckhart. The funeral arrangements have not yet been competed. The deceased was forty-five years of age and was beloved by all who knew her.

Frostburg, Sept. 5 — Mrs. Elizabeth (Haberlein) Krause, 65, widow of Conrad Krause, 70 East Main street, died Sunday morning at Miners' Hoslptal, after a lingering illness. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Haberlein, and a native of this city, she leaves one son, Paul Krause, Canton, O. She was a sister of William Haberlein, Mrs. Rose Streets, Akron, O., Conrad Haberleln, Mrs. Mary Gunter, Mrs. Mary Fischer, this city. She was a member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church. Funeral services were held this afternoon from the Church, with Rev. I. F. Kracke, pastor, officiating. Interment waa in the parish cemetery.

Frostburg, Md, May 24 - The funeral of George Krause, aged 70 years, who died Tuesday morning, was held from his home on Washington St yesterday afternoon. Rev John M Herzog, pastor of the Salem Reformed Church officiated. Mr Krause was a member of the Reformed Church and the Knights of Malta. Services were partly under the direction of the order. The pallbearers were: Conrad Honing. James Stewart, James Fuller, Samuel Smith, George Mayer and Daniel Evans. Interment was in Allegany cemetery.

Grantsville, Md., July 29 — Funeral services for John Krause, 6O, of near Avilton, Md., who died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, were held at the home, the Dorsey farm, this afternoon. Rev S. D. Sigler, Lutheran pastor, officiated. Burial was in Grantsville Cemetery. Mr. Krause, a son of Mrs. Margaret Krause and the late Frederick Krause, was admitted to the hospital July 3. Todd Dale Krause, 39, of Meyersdale, went home to the Lord January 17, 2014. He was born April 5, 1974 in Meyersdale. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Alice Krause. He is survived by his mother: Sandy (Platt) Hutzell and husband Al, Berlin; father: Joe Krause and wife Robin, Meyersdale; brother: Joe Krause and wife Krista, Berlin; maternal grandparents: Dick and Evelyn Platt, Berlin; nieces, Madeline and Lydia Krause; step-brother: Bobby Hutzell; and step-sisters: Becky and Mary Hutzell. Todd enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved his mom, dad, and brother dearly. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, with Pastor Barry Ferguson officiating. Uleleh Catherine Krause, 82, Grantsville, died Thursday, May 30, 1991, at Meyersdale (Pa.) Community Hospital.  Born February 10, 1909, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Lucy (McKenzie) McKenzie.  A homemaker, Mrs. Krause was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Grantsville.  She is survived by her husband, Paul Lewis Krause; one daughter, Margaret C. Walls, Grantsville; one brother, James Frankhouser, Keyser, W.Va.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.  Friends were received in the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was conducted Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev Evert Millard officiating.  Interment was in the Grantsville Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stelmer Flanagan. Mrs. Krause was retired from Allegany County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by her husband, Robert Krause, Cumberland; three sons, William R. Flanagan, Cresaptown, John E. Flanagan and wife Holly, Lake Gordon Road, Pa., and Jimmy L. Flanagan, Hampstead; two daughters, Carolyn J. Huff and husband Walker, Cresaptown, and Janet L. Durastanati and husband Alceo, Baltimore; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; as well as three sisters, Lorretta Hanekamp, Cumberland, Rodella Swanger, Oldtown, and Betty Harmon, Cumberland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. FROSTBURG - Stella Nelson Krauss, 90, of Frostburg, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born in Eckhart, on Jan. 9, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John Nelson and Rosa (Crowe) Nelson, the youngest of 16 children.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Krauss in 1982; one son, Allan Krauss in 1981; and 15 brothers and sisters. Stella was a beautician and owned and operated Stella's Beauty Shop on Main Street in Frostburg, for many years.  She was a graduate of the Beall High School, Class of 1932.  She was a member of Eckhart United Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Dinah S. Shockey, Waynesboro, PA; two sons, Philip N. Krauss, Waynesboro, and Rick Krauss, Frostburg; and three grandchildren, Philip F. Krauss, Mount Savage, Michelle Krauss, Marathon, FL, and Brian T. Shockey, Cincinatti, OH. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Jamison and by two brothers. She is survived by her second husband, Charles T. Kraynak, three sons, William D. "Doc" Jamison and Ronald R. Jamison, both of Hyndman; Richard L. "Cork" Jamison, Ellerslie, Md.; two daughters, Colleen K. Emerick and Kay L. Thorne, both of Hyndman; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold L. Emerick, Glenn Burnie, Md.; Richard N. Emerick, Hyndman; a sister, Jean E. England, Bedford. Mrs. Kraynak had been formerly employed at the Celanese Corp. and the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co., both in Cumberland. She was a member of the Bible Gospel Church, Hyndman. Services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Robertson, 226 Pear street, for George Irvin Kreiger, 69, of Wiley Ford, who died yesterday afternoon at his residence after an illness of three months. Rev. George E. Baughman, pastor of First Methodist church, will officiate and interment will be in Fort Ashby, W. Va., cemetery. The body will remain at the home of the daughter. A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Kreiger worked as a carpenter. He moved to Cumberland in 1912 and later to Wiley Ford. He was a member of First Methodist church. Besides his widow, Mrs. Rachel (Shuman) Kreiger, he is survived by three sons, John A., Wiley Ford, Nelson G., Fort Ashby, and William C. Kreiger, this city; two daughters, Mrs. Grace V. Poland and Mrs. Robertson, both of this city; brothers, Harry Kreiger, Harrisburg, Pa., and Charles Kreiger, Lyons, Kansas; and a sister, Mrs. Florence Souers, also of Lyons. Sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.

FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Hope C. Kreiger, 83, of Fort Ashby, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Memorial Hospital. Born April 24, 1920 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Nelson G. and Lucy Irene (Willison) Kreiger. She had worked as a postal clerk at the Fort Ashby Post Office. Hope had also been a medical secretary. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women. Survivors include her brother, David Kreiger and wife Eunice (Abe) Kreiger, Jacksonville, Fla.; one niece; one nephew; two great-nieces; and four great-nephews. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Fort Ashby, on Sunday, where a memorial service will be held by the Trinity United Methodist Women at 8:15 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dallas Forren officiating. Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.

Born Oct. 9, 1900, in Fort Ashby, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Malone) Willison. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nelson G. Kreiger, in 1968. Mrs. Kreiger was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she belonged to the United Methodist Women. Surviving are one daughter, Hope Kreiger, at home; one son, David Kreiger and wife Eunice, Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Ann Marie Brown and Michael Kreiger; three great-grandchildren and a nephew, Walter Dixon. Friends will be received at the Fort Ashby Funeral Home, on Monday. Services will be conducted at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Alvin Guyon officiating. Nelson George Kreiger, 70, of Fort Ashby, was pronounced dead on arrival Friday at Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney. He was born March 1, 1898, in Harrisburg, Pa., a son of the late George E. and Rachel (Shuman) Kreiger. He was a retired boilermaker for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and was a member of the Portsmouth (Va.) Boilermaker Union. He was also a member of the B&O Glee Club and Quartet. His survivors include his wife, Irene (Willison) Kreiger; a son, David N. Kreiger with the Navy in Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Miss Hope C. Kreiger, of Fort Ashby; one brother, William Kreiger, Cumberland; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Robertson and Mrs. Grace Robinette, both of Cumberland; and two grandchildren. The body is at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cumberland, where friends will be received today. Funeral services will he held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Fort Ashby Methodist Church, the Rev. Charles Starkey officiating. Interment in Fort Ashby Cemetery.

Airy, Md.; four daughters, Phyllis Getz (wife of Robert) of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; Betty Jane Sturtz (wife of Raymond) of Hyndman, Clara Kreigline, with whom she resided; and Marlene Clites (wife of Ronald) of Ellerslie, Md.; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Bruck of Painesville, Ohio, and Henry Bruck of Hyndman; and three sisters, Maude Temke of Hyndman, and Florence Diehl and Dorothy Diehl, both of Irvin. She was preceded in death by a son, Devon Kreigline; a grandson, David Sturtz, and a sister, Nellie Shaffer. Mrs. Kreigline was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary, Hyndman Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Monday at the Harvey H. HYNDMAN, Jan. 28 — Joseph Kreigline, 80 years old, retired Baltimore & Ohio Railroad engineer, died here Monday. He was a native of Meyersdale and was a son of the late Andrew and Catherine Kreigline. He was a member of' SS. Philip and James Catholic Church of Meyersdale. Besides his wife, the former Sarah Kennell, he is survived by two sons, Carl Kreigline of Pittsburgh and Arthur Kreigline of Hyndman; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Holler of Hyndman; and a sister, Mrs. Kate Shingler of Hooversville.

KREIGLINE, Mrs. Sarah Kennell

Mrs. Sarah Kennell Kreigline, 87, a native of Kennell's Mills, near Hyndman, died suddenly Wednesday morning at her home in Hyndman. Mrs. Kreigline was a daughter of the late Levi and Catherine Beals Kennell. Her husband, Joseph Kreigline. died four years ago. Mrs. Kreigline was a member of St. Philip's and St. James's Catholic church, Meyersdale, Pa. Three children survive. They are Mrs. Margaret Holler and Arthur Kreigline. both of Hyndman; and Karl Kreigline. Pittsburgh. Other survivors include a brother, Crist Kennell, Boswell; and a sister, Mrs. Annie Emerick, Fairhope. Funeral services will be held at St. Philip's and St. James's church at 10 a. m. Saturday, with the Rev. Father Houghton officiating. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.

FROSTBURG — Mrs. Alice P. Kreitzburg, 83, widow of John W. Kreitzburg, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Miller, 126 Hill Street. Born in Eckhart, she was a daughter of the late Morris Townsend and Mary Ann (Rephann) Porter. She was a member of the Eckhart Methodist Church. Besides Mrs. Miller she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. James Bone and Mrs. Daniel Miller, both of Frostburg; two sons, William Kreitzbnrg, Cumberland, and John Kreitzburg, Frostburg; three brothers, Russell, Marshall and Mason Porter, all of Eckhart; six sisters, Mrs. Richard Loar, LaVale; Mrs. Frank Bloomer, Baltimore; Mrs. Harry Craze, Frostburg, and Mrs. Richard Watson, Mrs. Stanley Snyder and Mrs. David Stark, all of Eckhart; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home where friends will be received today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

KREITZBURG, Mrs. Bertha Arminta Mickey

Mrs. Bertha Arminta Kreitzburg, RD 1, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital where she was admitted August 28. Born in Westernport, she was a daughter of the late William L. and Susan (Lybarger) Mickey. Her husband, George Kreitzburg, preceded her in death. Mrs. Kreitzburg was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a charter member of Cumberland Chapter 56, Order Eastern Star. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles Dick, at home; a sister, Mrs. Maude McFarland, Bedford Road, and a grandchild. The body will remain at the George Funeral Home where services will be conducted Friday at 2 p. m. by Rev. Raymond A. Faulds Jr., pastor of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

YOUNG ECKHART WOMAN DEAD OF AUTO INJURIES
Frostburg, Nov. 6;—The funeral of Miss Elizabeth Kreitzburg, aged 30 years, who died last Saturday at the Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, the result of injuries sustained in an auto crash earlier the same day in that city, was held Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock from Saint Michael's Catholic Church. Requiem high mass was celebrated by the Rev. William I. Kelly, assistant pastor, who also delivered the sermon.  Rev. Joseph P. Nolan, pastor, was present in the sanctuary.   Miss Mary Cronly, soprano, sang "Dear Heart of My Saviour." Burial was in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Mt Pleasant street.  The pallbqarers were John Barry, Joseph Condon, Thomas Condon, Joseph Eberly, John Jackson and Thomas Sullivan.  Miss Kreitzburg was employed in Baltimore for the past several years.  She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Theresa Kreitzburg, and the following brothers and sisters: Elmer and William Kreitzburg, Eckhart; Miss Anna M. Kreitzburg and Mrs. John Zimmerman, Baltimore.

KREITZBURG, George

George Kreitzburg, 49, Celanese staff employe, died yesterday afternoon at his home in LaVale. He had been in failing health since February. Mr. Kreitzburg was a machinist foreman at the Celanese plant where he had been employed the past 17 years. He learned the machinist's trade at the Western Maryland Railway here. He was a native of Frostburg, a son of the late George H. and Annie Griffith Kreitzburg, and had lived in this area all his life. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church here. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bertha Mickey Kreitzburg; a daughter Mrs. Charles Dick, LaVale; a granddaughter, Sandra Dick; a brother, Harry Kreitzburg, 317 Cecelia Street; and three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Wilburn, LaVale; Mrs. Edward Vaughn, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. James Bittner, Bowman's Addition. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p. m. from the residence in LaVale. Rev. W. R. Keefe, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church, will officiate, with interment in Hillcrest Burial Park.

KREPPS, Martine T.

Martine T. Krepps, formerly of Harper’s Ferry, but who for several years past has lived in Washington, died in that city last Thursday.  Mr. Krepps was 95 years old, and is said to have been the oldest member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in the world.  For over seventy years he had been a member of that order.  In his earlier life, Mr. Krepps was a gun inspector in the great government armory at Harper’s Ferry, and had a wide acquaintance in this section.

KRETCHMAN, Harvey M.

MEYERSDALE, June 18 - Harvey M. Kretchman, who was stricken with angina pectoris in the afternoon, died Tuesday night at his home on North street. He was 65. Mr. Kretchman, one of Meyersdale's foremost citizens, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Kretchman; two brothers, Prof. W. H. Kretchman, of Somerset, and John C. Kretchman, of Meyersdale, and one sister, Mrs. Ada Hershberger, of near Meyersdale. The funeral service will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. B. A. Black will officiate. Burial will be made in Union Cemetery.

MEYERSDALE, Pa., June 3 — Funeral rites for John C. Kretchman, 61, RFD 1, who died last week, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the residence by Rev. Nelson C. Brown, pastor of Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church. Burial was in Union Cemetery. Mr. Kretchman was born September 17, 1885, in Summit Township, a son of the late Lewis and Catherine (Schrock) Kretchman. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edna (Tressler) Kretchman; two children, Mrs. Bruce Phillips, Meyersdale, and Harvey Kretchman, RFD 1, Meyersdale; a sister, Mrs. Harvey Hershberger, this community, and five grandchildren.

KRETCHMAN, William H.

MEYERSDALE, Sept. 11 - William H. Kretchman, 72, Somerset, former Somerset county superintendent of schools, died suddenly at 11:30 o'clock Wednesday morning while visiting friends in Northampton township. A heart attack was given as the cause of death. A lifelong resident of Somerset county, he was born in Summit township November 24, I869, a son of the late Louis and Catherine Schrock Kretchman. He taught school in the county and also at the State normal schools at California and Indiana. He was supervising principal of the Meyersdale schools for 17 years before becoming county superintendent in 1920, retiring in 1934. He was a bank director, active in fraternal and civic orders, and a trustee of Franklin and Marshall College. His wife, the former Mary Ellen Gnagey, died February 7, 1938. Surviving are a brother, John, and a sister, Mrs. Harvey Hershberger, both of Meyersdale. The funeral service was conducted this afternoon at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in charge of Rev. Dr. George L. Roth, pastor. Interment was made in Union Cemetery.

Frostburg, March 3—Services will be held Monday morning in St Edward's Catholic church, Baltimore, for William Krietzburg, 52, former resident of Frostburg, who died Thursday afternoon while at work in the General Electric Company Baltimore plant, where he was employed as a foreman. Interment will be in Cathedral cemetery. He was the son of Mrs. Theresa and the late Henry Krietzburg, for many years residents of Eckhart. The family moved to Baltimore in 1928, when Krietzburg, a former mine workers, accepted a position with the General Electric Company.  The survivors, besides Mrs. Krietzburg, are two sisters. Mrs. Regina Zimmerman, Baltimore, and Miss Anna Mary Krietzburg, at home.

KRING, Mrs. Emma Lybarger

Mrs. Emma (Lybarger) Kring died Saturday, December 21, at Endicott, N. Y. She had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Maude (Kring) Marshall, for the past year. Mrs. Kring was the daughter of the late David and Hetty (Huffman) Lybarger. Of the 11 children of Mr. and Mrs. David Lybarger, only one, Mrs. Sarah Holler, survives. Mrs. Kring is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary (Claude) Marshall, Endicott, N. Y.; Mrs. Hail (Ethel) Krissinger, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Earl (Florence) Thompson, Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One son, Zellers, was killed in a sled accident in Pittsburgh years ago. The body was brought from Endicott on December 26 and lay in state in her home church, the Lybarger Lutheran Church, at Madley, from 12 to 2 p.m., when funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Frank Herzel.

KRING, Zellers Guy

Zellers Guy Kring was killed near his home in Wilkinsburg on Thursday, February 13. While coasting, his sled was run down by an automobile, which caused his death shortly afterwards. He was a son of Joseph and Emma (Lybarger) Kring, and was aged 16 years, 11 months and nine days. Besides his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Maude A. Marshall and Misses Ethel and Florence Kring, survive. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. George Trostle at Madley, Sunday morning, February 16; interment at Madley.

KRITZBURG, Walter T.

MEYERSDALE - Walter T. Kritzburg, 57, suffered a heart attack and died at his home here yesterday. He was a native of Brothersvalley Township and the son of Mrs. Sara Foust Kritzburg, Meyersdale, and the late Daniel Kritzburg. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Briskey, Meyersdale, and Mrs. Nellie Naugle of Corral. Friends are being received here at the Leckemby Funeral Home Services will be held there at 10:3O a.m. on Saturday with Rev. Paul Snyder officiating. Interment will be at Hayes Cemetery, and a military graveside service will be conducted by the Charles E. Kelly Post 112 of the American Legion.

KRNAYA, Mrs. Mary Virginia Parker

Mrs. Mary Virginia Krnaya, 51, of Fairgo, died Friday in Sacred Heart Hospital. She had been a patient since January 19 and had been in failing health for five years. Born in Romney, she was a daughter of Isaac and Ethel (Grant) Parker. She was a member of the Cresaptown Methodist Church and of the A.E.L. Sisterhood of the church. Prior to her illness, she served as church organist and was a member of the choir. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, George Krnaya; one son, George Nickolas Krnaya, at home; one brother, Samuel Parker, Fairgo, and one sister, Mrs. James Kamauf, Cresaptown. The body is at the John J. Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, where friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the chapel tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. and interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park. Rev. William Balderson, pastor of Cresaptown Methodist Church, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Charles Cage, Harold Wagner, James Wiland, George Ellis, Gerald Clayton and James Mick.

GILMORE — Blaine P. Kroll, 66, of RD 1, Frostburg, died Friday, Jan. 6, 1989, at Frostburg Community Hospital. Born March 1, 1922, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late William A. and Margaret (Parker) Kroll. Mr. Kroll was a retired employee of the Celanese Fibers Corporation and member of the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing, and the Mountain City CB Club. Surviving are his widow, M. Hazel (Beeman) Kroll; one son, Steven B. Kroll, Cockeysville; two daughters, Mrs. Donna Helton, Frostburg; and Mrs. Marilyn Uban, Pontiac, Mich.; two brothers, the Rev. John Kroll, Hancock; and Kenneth Kroll, Mentor, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Ann Becker, Laurel; and four grandchildren. KROLL, Charles Fred

WESTERNPORT — Charles Fred Kroll, 80, of 313 Poplar St., Westernport, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va. Born on Feb. 19, 1919 in Gilmore, he was the son of the late John Henry and Edith (DeVore) Kroll. Mr. Kroll also was preceded in death by a brother, John Henry Kroll and a sister, Thelma "Susie” Porter. Fred, as he was known, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, having been awarded a purple heart. He was a retired construction worker, having worked from 1938 to 1982. He was a member of Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport, Alvin C. Neat VFW, Lonaconing, and the Disabled Veterans of Cumberland. He was a Methodist by faith. Mr. Kroll is survived by his wife, Mary (Darr) Kroll; a brother, Elmer Leroy Kroll, of Eckhart, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Footen and Rev. Ed Hood officiating. Interment will be in Philos Cemetery Westernport.

KROLL, Conrad

Frostburg, June 18 — Conrad Kroll, 69, grocer, died yesterday at his home, 99 Washington street, after being seriously ill several weeks. Mr. Kroll served as city commissioner for eight years and was a member of the Arion Band for 49 years. Having served as president of the band for many years, Mr. Kroll was re-elected to office for another term, last month. A native of this city and a son of the late Harmon and Anna Kroll, he was an active member of the Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church and had been a member of the Sunday School orchestra for 25 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Ellen Ort, and children, Mrs. Jonathan Baker, Mrs. Ralph Beal, Mrs. Arch Ferguson, and William H. Kroll, Frostburg; and Pvt. 1st Class John Kroll, of the anti-aircraft artillery, North Africa.

FROSTBURG — Conrad E. Kroll, 60, of 54 Walnut Street, Grahamtown, died last evening in Miners Hospital. Surviving are his widow, the former Edith Entler; a sister, Mrs. Matthew Williams, Grahamtown, and two brothers, Earl Kroll, Zihlman, and George T. Kroll, Frostburg. The body is at the Kroll Funeral Home.

LONACONING - Daniel L. Kroll, 72, of 2874 Armil Drive, Springfield, Ohio, died March 28 at Akron City Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Lewis) Kroll. Surviving are his widow, Parrie Kroll; a brother, William Kroll, Frostburg, and a sister, Marilyn Kroll, Silver Spring. Interment was in Akron.

MIDLAND - Earl Kroll, 72, of here, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. A native of here, he was a [step]son of the late Henry Eisentrout and Mrs. Constance Retallic. Mr. Kroll was a retired employe of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company and a member of the Junior Order Lodge. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Naomi (Filer) Kroll; one daughter, Mrs. Beverly Blair, here; one son, Lee Kroll, Cumberland, and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn Funeral Home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the Midland United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. tomorrow by Rev. Blaine Rinker. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the church at noon tomorrow.

ZIHLMAN - Earl V. Kroll, 82, died Thursday at his home. Born in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Jacob Kroll and Mary (Boettner) Kroll. Mr. Kroll was a retired machinist for the Celanese Fibers Company. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Catherine (Geary) Kroll; one son, Vernon Kroll, Bedford, Pa.; one daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Shinholt, Somerset, Pa., and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there Saturday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. George M. Harpold. Interment will be in the Mount Savage United Methodist Cemetery.

George L. Wehler conducting the service. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Mrs. Kroll, a daughter of the late John and Ellen Ort, was a native of Borden Shaft. She resided in Frostburg from childhood and was a lifelong member of Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church. She is survived by five children, Mrs. Julia Baker, Mrs. Ralph Beal, and John Kroll, at home; Mrs. Evelyn Ferguson, Bowie, Md.; and William Kroll, Frostburg, present master of Mountain Lodge No. 99 A. Frostburg, Md., June 26 — Funeral services for Erma Elizabeth Kroll, 11, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad E. Kroll, were held Monday afternoon with Rev. Karl H. Beck. Flower carriers were Maryland Williams, Wilda Eisel, Emma Jean Taylor, Margaret Hawkins, Catherine Scaggero, Thelma Harris, Norma Gellner and June Weimer. Pallbearers were Henry Rank, Robert Powers, William Rank, Ellis Yates, William Knieriem and Stanley Eisel. MIDLAND— Mrs. Frances J. Kroll died today in Miners Hospital, Frostburg. Born in Carlos, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Nannie (Fatkin) Filer. She was a member of the Midland Methodist Church, the Midland Pythian Sisters and the WSCS of the church. Surviving are her husband, Edward Kroll: three daughters, Mrs. Paul Cordial, Cresaptown; Mrs. Harold Ravenscroft, Potomac Park, and Mrs. Samuel Brooks, Midland: two sons, John E. Kroll, Midland, and James Kroll, Painesville, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Kroll, Midland; Mrs. Charles Wade, Carlos, and nine grandchildren. The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home, Lonaconing, where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The body will be taken to the Midland Methodist Church at noon Friday for services there at 2 p.m. with Rev. Richard Leslie officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

KROLL, George H.

Frostburg – George H. Kroll, 68, of 244 Center Street, died this morning in the Allegany County Infirmary, Cumberland, following an extended illness. He was a son of the late Herman and Elizabeth (Lapp) Kroll. A retired coal miner, Mr. Kroll was a veteran of World War I, and a member of Salem Evangelical Reformed Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Harriet (Winters) Kroll; a son, George J. Kroll, Frostburg; a daughter, Mrs. James Anderson, Midland; and a grandchild. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.

KROLL, Mrs. Gladys Virginia Wiland

ADDISON, Ill. — Gladys Virginia (Wiland) Kroll, 86, of Addison, formerly of Garrett County, entered Heaven on Nov. 26, 2013 after a prolonged illness. Born in  Akron, Ohio on Oct. 25, 1927, Gladys was the daughter of the late Elbert (Roy) and Clara (Ferguson) Wiland. Raised in the Garrett County area, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John Kroll; an infant brother, Hilary; and sisters, Dorothy Becker, Betty Mauck, and Twyla Harrison. A graduate of Zion Bible Institute in Rhode Island, Gladys later earned her ministerial license with the Assemblies of God. She pastored alongside her husband at churches in Maryland and Ohio, retiring to Hancock in 1987, where she remained active in women’s, children’s, and music ministries.  She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Gloff and husband Rich of Addison, with whom she resided after she became ill. Also surviving are her son, Duane Kroll and wife June of Baltimore; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Surviving are sisters, Grace Crawford of Williamsport, Mary (Raymond) Ross of Bel Air; and brothers Melvin (Esther) Wiland of Lonaconing and Gerald (Joanne) Wiland of Baltimore; and sister-in-law, Ann Kroll Becker of Hagerstown. The funeral service to honor her steadfast faith and life was held Dec. 2, 2013, in Hancock. Interment was at Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.

Mr. Harmon Kroll, Sr., aged 70, died Tuesday morning at 1:20,at his home on Washington street. Mr. Kroll has been a sufferer of miners' asthma which with other complications caused his death. The deceaaed was a native of Germany, coming to this country and settling at this place many years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. [Anna]Elizabeth Kroll, and the following children: Mrs. Annie Everline, Mrs. Lizzie Lapp, of this place; Mrs. John G. Nebel, Washington, D. C., Messrs. Jacob Kroll, Conrad Kroll, John W. Kroll, Henry Kroll and Geo. Kroll, of this place; Harmon Kroll, Jr., Annapolis, Md. The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.,  Services will be conducted by Rev. George E. Metger, pastor of the Salem Reformed church.  Interment will be made in Allegany cemetery.

Surviving are a son, George Kroll, here; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew Anderson, Loartown; a brother, James Winters, Midland; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Muir, Miss Frances Winters, Midland; Mrs. Edgar Rephan, Flintstone, and two grandchildren. FROSTBURG — Hazel B. Kroll, 83, of Frostburg, formerly of Gilmore, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 at WHMS- Braddock Campus, Cumberland. Born Sept. 7, 1925 in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Beeman and Ellen (Thompson) Beeman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine P. Kroll, 1989; and two sisters, Marie Nicol and Hughlene Cameron. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing, where she was former Sunday school teacher and was a graduate of Central High School. She was a former employee of Celanese Fiber Corp. and Frostburg State University where she was a dorm mom. She volunteered at Frostburg Heights and the Frostburg Nursing Home where she helped with meals and had also volunteered at  WMHS-Braddock Campus. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Helton and husband Robert of Avilton/ Lonaconing and Marilyn Uban and husband Cary of Davison, Mich.; one son, Steven B. Kroll and wife Nancy of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; four grandchildren, Amy Kenney and husband Matt, Derek Uban, Jeffrey Uban and Jeremy Kroll; and two great-grandchildren, Megan Kenney and Morgan Kenney; two brothers, Edward Beeman of Frostburg and Hugh Beeman and wife Kathy of Cumberland; one sister, Delores Crawford and husband Don of Gallatin, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. KROLL, Helen Inskeep

Barton- Helen Inskeep Kroll, 90, formerly of 19107 Eutaw St., Barton, and most recently of Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Frostburg, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the nursing home. Born Aug. 26, 1914, in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph O. and Cora Lee (Stephen) Inskeep. Her husband of 62 years, Lloyd E. Kroll Sr., in November of 1999; and three brothers, Vincent Earl, Carl Richard, and J. Cecil Inskeep, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Kroll was retired from the Jet Assembly Department of the Celanese Corporation. She was a member of the Barton Presbyterian Church for 70 years. She was a 50 year member and Past Matron of Bethlehem Chapter 14, Order of Eastern Star, Westernport, and a member of the Past Matrons and Patrons Association of Western Maryland, Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Kroll was also a member of the Barton and Lonaconing Senior Citizens Retirement Club, and a Past President of the Barton Club. She was a 1932 graduate of Barton High School. She leaves behind one son, Lloyd Eldred Kroll Jr. of Barton; three grandchildren, Brenda K. Rice and husband Mark of Barton, Richard B. Kroll and wife Rhonda of Barton, and Gary E. Kroll of Barton; three brothers, Russell S. Inskeep and wife Inda of Winter Park, Fla., Kenneth M. Inskeep and wife Dorothy of Westminster, William B. Inskeep and wife Emily of Bel Air; one sister, Cora Lee Fazenbaker and husband Ellie of Barton; a sister-in-law, Thelma Inskeep of Lonaconing; seven great-grandchildren, Carrie and Brant Rice, Heather Ann, Chadd and Josh Kroll, and Ryan A. and Trevor Kroll; and one great-great-grandson, Tyler Warnick; and a number of nieces and nephews The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Order of Eastern Star will conduct a memoria service at the Boal Chapel on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Frostburg, Md., Oct. 26 - Henry Kroll, 52, died yesterday in Station Hospital at Fort George G. Meade, where he had been a patient for five weeks. He had been a member of the Veterans' C.C.C. Camp at White Hall, Md., for three years. Besides his wife, Mrs. Ruth Everline Kroll, he is survived by one daughter, Pearl, at home; three brothers, City Finance Commissioner Conrad Kroll and John and George Kroll, this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Lapp, Eckhart, and Mrs. John Nebel, Colmar Manor, Md. He was a member of the Salem Reformed Church. The body was brought to the family home, 67 Washington street, today.

Frostburg, Jan. 1 — Word was received here of the death of Herman Kroll, at 1 a. m. Tuesday at his home in Canton, O. Mr. Kroll, a former resident of this city had been in ill health for five years. Prior to his illness, he was employed in the plant of the Hoover Sweeper Company. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Elizabeth Crowe; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Airhart, and a son, Walden Kroll, at home. He was a brother of Conrad, John, George, and Henry Kroll, Mrs. John Lapp, Frostburg, and Mrs. Emma Nevil, Washington, D. C. The funeral will be held Monday from his home with interment in Canton.

FROSTBURG - John C. Kroll, 52, who operated a grocery store on Washington street, died Saturday night in Miners Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was a former Kelly-Springfield Tire Company worker and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Kroll was a son of the late Conrad and Ellen (Ort) Kroll. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Jonathan Baker and Mrs. Ralph Beall, of here; and Mrs. Arch Ferguson, Bowie; and a brother, William H. Kroll, of here. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home, here, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Geoerge C. Lonaconing, August 15 - John Henry Kroll, 27, resident of Mount Savage, died yesterday in Miners Hospital, Frostburg. He was a son of Mrs. Edith (DeVore) Kroll and the late John Kroll. Kroll was a driver for the C & W Bus Company. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marjorie (Lynch) Kroll; two young sons; his mother, Mrs. Edith Kroll of Lonaconing; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Porter of Lonaconing; two brothers, Leroy Kroll, serving in France, and Fred Kroll, stationed at Camp Claiborne, La. The body is at the home of the mother in Detmold, Lonaconing. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

FROSTBURG - John W. Kroll, 86, of 81 Washington Street, died Saturday in Miners Hospital where he had been a patient since Tuesday. Born in Frostburg, he was a son of the late Herman and Anna (Lapp) Kroll. Mr. Kroll had been a member of Salem United Church of Christ for 72 years and was a lifelong member of the Sunday School of that church. He had been a member of the Arion Band. He is survived by a daughter Mrs. F. Earl Kreitzburg, Frostburg; a son, Herman Kroll, Frostburg; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was the last member of his immediate family. The body is at the Hafer-Sowers Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p. m. at the funeral home by Rev. George L. Wehler. Burial will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

FROSTBURG — Kenneth K. Kroll, 73, died Sept. 2, 2001, at his residence, 4825 Forest Road, Mentor, Ohio. He was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Frostburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; parents,William A. and Margaret A. Kroll of Frostburg; one daughter; two brothers, Blaine P. Kroll of Gilmore and the Rev. John A. Kroll of Hancock. Mr. Kroll was a World War II Navy veteran. After his discharge from the Navy, he was a Merchant Marine for many years on the Great Lakes. He was employed at Rotor Tool Company in Wickliff as a screw machine operator. Mr. Kroll was a member of Lakeshore Assembly of God Church in Mentor. Survivors are daughters, Laverne (Phillip) Shockey of Lonaconing and Bonnie J. Muster and husband, Robert of Moundsville, W.Va.; one sister, Ann Becker, Baltimore; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one surviving stepson, Dennis Anderson; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A native of Lonaconing, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Annie (Cathew) Lewis and was the widow of John Kroll. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Marilyn Kroll, Carlisle, Pa., and two sons, William Kroll, Wright's Crossing, and Daniel Kroll, Akron. WESTERNPORT, Md. - Mary L. Kroll, 84, of 313 Poplar St, Westernport, Md., passed away Friday, December 8, 2006, at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, where she had been a resident. Born August 6, 1922, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Flora Pearl (Henry) Darr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fred Kroll. Mary was a member of the Westernport United Methodist Church. She retired from G.C. Murphy Co, with 40 years of service, having been a bookkeeper. She leaves behind a sister, Dorothy Hood and husband Edward of Huntington, W.Va., and a special friend and caregiver, Barbara Fisher of Westernport. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Sunday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Westernport United Methodist Church on Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Sandy Cowen officiating. Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport. Mrs. Kroll was born here Oct. 3, 1913, daughter of the late George E. Taylor and Maud (Jenkins) Taylor. A graduate of Frostburg State Teachers College, she was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church and the Van Dyke Bible Class, and was a past president of the Eckhart Homemakers Club. She is survived by her husband, George T Kroll; one sister, Mrs Betty T. Barry, here; two brothers, George B. Taylor, Winchester Road, Cumberland; Robert N. She was a daughter of the late Mathias and Margaret Thomas Everline, and widow of Henry Kroll. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harvey J. Miller, New Castle, Del.; two sisters, Miss Pearl Everline, Baltimore, and Mrs. Martha Pengelley, Cumberland, and four grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Mr. William Kroll died at the home of his mother in Gilmore Monday, after a long illness.  He had been suffering for a long time with complication of diseases.  He was born at Eckhart Mines, his parents moving to Gilmore when he was quite young, where he has resided ever since.  Up to a short time before his death he was a manager of the Union Hotel in Midland, which he sold to Mr. J. Evans.  He was a member of the Paradise Aerie Eagles, of Midland, who will have charge of the funeral.  He is survived by his wife, his mother and the following brothers and sisters: Mr. George Kroll, a prominent business man of Railroad street, Midland; John Henry, a miner, residing at Gilmore; Misses Ella, Julia and Rose of Gilmore; Mrs. John Labor, of Gilmore, and Mrs. Albert Pulligan.  He also leaves the following children, Sylvia May, Edward and Earl.  The funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

KROLL, William

Mr. William Kroll, whose death was announced in the Times some days ago, was buried today from the late residence in Gilmore. Rev. Watson Case, of the Grace M.E. Church of Midland, preached the funeral sermon and had charge of the burial services. The interment was made in the Old Coney Cemetery, where the deceased has two children buried. He comes from an old and well known family of Gilmore, and was always a prominent figure in the business of the place. The funeral contributions were many and beautiful.

FROSTBURG - William Adam Kroll, 88, of Frostburg Heights Apartments, died Saturday at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, where he was recently admitted. Born in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late John Adam Kroll and Mary (Lewis) Kroll. His wife, Margaret (Parker) Kroll, preceded him in death in 1982. He was a retired employee of The Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, a Navy veteran of World War I, member of First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing, Frostburg Senior Citizens, and Farrady Post 24, American Legion. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ann Becker, Philadelphia; three sons, Blaine P. Kroll, Gilmore; the Rev. John A. Kroll, Newcomerstown, Ohio, and Kenneth K. Kroll, Mentor, Ohio; one sister, Miss Marilyn Kroll, Silver Spring; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

William Helton officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by Farrady Post 24, American Legion. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Durst Funeral Home, and at the church Tuesday one hour before the services. Pallbearers will be Steve Kroll, Robert Helton, Phil Shockey, Phil Shockey Jr., Richard Gloff and Robert Muster.

KROLL, William H.

FROSTBURG - William H. “Woo” Kroll, 82, of 55 Cemetery Road, died Friday, Feb. 16, 1990, in Frostburg Community Hospital. Born April 2, 1907, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Conrad and Ellen (Ort) Kroll. He was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. A former employee of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and the Celanese Corporation, he retired from the Allegany County Board of Education. A member of Salem United Church of Christ, Mr. Kroll was a member and past master of Mountain Lodge 99, AF&AM; a member and past patron of Mountain Chapter 15, Order of the Eastern Star; and a former member of the Four Leaf Clover Boys Quartet and the Arion Band. Surviving are his widow, Hilda (Bloom) Kroll; one sister, Mrs. Leannah Beal, Frostburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg. Services will be conducted there Sunday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. John G. Ferguson and the Rev. George L. Wehler. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Members of Mountain Lodge 99, AF&AM, will hold a memorial service in the funeral home Saturday at 7:30 p.m. A service by Mountain Chapter 15, OES, will follow at 8 p.m.

KROUSHOUR, Henry E.

MEYERSDALE, July 30 — Henry E. Kroushour, 63, died Thursday at his home at Glencoe after a year's illness. His first wife, Mrs. Minnie Deist Kroushour, died 10 years ago. Surviving are his second wife, Mrs. Lydia Poorbaugh Kroushour, whom he married September 15, 1934, and three children, all born to the first union: Mrs. John Uhlich, Steubenville, Ohio; Mrs. Charles A. Crowe, Windber; Mrs. James Saylor, Glencoe; Mrs. Harry Weimer, Aliquippa; Mrs. Harry Custer and Mrs. Ray Murray, Meyersdale. He was brother of Mrs. W. A. Smith of Meyersdale, Mrs. Charles Deist and Mrs. H. M. Bittner of Glencoe and W. A. and E. L. Kroushour of Gettysburg. The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon. Interment was made at Mount Lebanon Reformed Church cemetery.

KROUSHOUR, Mrs. Linnie Ella Poorbaugh

GLENCOE, Pa. - Mrs. Linnie Ella Kroushour, 86, of RD 1 here, died last night in Meyersdale Community Hospital where she had been a patient four days. Born here October 30, 1884, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Elsie (Boyer) Poorbaugh. Twice married, her first husband, Allen F. Bittner, and her second husband, Henry Kroushour, both preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Verl C. Bittner, RD 1, Glencoe, and Charles V. Bittner, RD 1, Mt. Savage; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The body is at Ziegler Funeral Home in Hyndman where friends will be received tomorrow from 7 to 9 p. m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home Monday at 2 p. m. by Rev. Paul E. Snyder. Interment will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Jack Krumbine, 51, of 556 East Alvarado Street, Pomona, Calif., died Tuesday at a hospital there. He had been in ill health for two years. Born in Flintstone, he was a son of Clarence Krumbine and Grace (McKenzie) Krumbine, both of whom now reside in Pomona.  Mr. Krumbine was employed as a welder. He had worked in Baltimore before moving to California about 20 years ago. He is also survived by one son, Michael Krumbine, Baltimore; a brother, David Krumbine, of California, and one sister, Mrs. Carol Roush, Signal Hill, Calif. Services and interment will be held in Pomona.

Elma Regina Kubiet, 58; of Route 1, Fairmont, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at her home. She was born Sept 9, 1941, at Hazelton, daughter of the late Floyd and Vesta Rodeheaver Teets. She owned a local business and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Eugene "Sonny" Kubiet; a son and spouse, James and Patricia Kubiet, of Monongah; three daughters and spouses, Susan Kubiet-Moore and Mark Moore, of Pleasant Valley, Laura Kubiet-Roach and John Roach, of Farmington, and Regina Kubiet, of Monongah; a brother-in-law, Joseph "Junior" Kubiet, of Monongah; two sisters, Faye Teets Lawson, of Hazelton, and Mable Teets Vansickle, of Friendsville, MD; a sister-in-law, Doris Kubiet, of Monongah; and two grandchildren, Ella Kubiet and Jacob Moore. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donley Teets, two sisters, Genieve Teets Pasquale and Evelyn Teets Reckart. Bernard Edward "Jack" Kubilus, 77, of 4125 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Grantsville, Md, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born June 28, 1926, in Shenandoah, Pa., he was a son of the late Joseph and Julia (Bobilus) Kubilus. He was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph and two grandchildren. Mr. Kubilus was a member of Little Meadows Baptist Church where he was a former trustee. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of WW II, serving as a signalman third class. He is a member of the U.S. Naval Memorial and was a retired general supervisor in the paint shop for the U. S. Coast Guard, Curtis Bay, Md. He enjoyed flying aircraft and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Emma (Cornwell) Kubilus; four sons, Bernard Kubilus, Jr.; Dennis Jenkins and Charles Kubilus, all of Glen Burnie, Md.; Warren Kubilus, Ellicott City, Md.; two daughters, Darleen Mealey, Grantsville; Jacqueline DiLiberti, Shrewsbury, Pa.; two brothers, Murtha Donovan, Columbia, Md.; William Donovan, Hagerstown, Md.; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. on Thursday and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Little Meadows Baptist Church with Pastor Rick High and Pastor Billy Phebus officiating. Bernard W. Kuhlman, 60. of 213 Pennsylvania Avenue, died yesterday in Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient several days. Born in Mt. Savage, a son of George A. and Adeline (Rarrick) Kuhlman, he had resided here 27 years. Mr. Kuhlman was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was employed as a machinist at the Amcelle Plant of Celanese Fibers Company. Surviving are his widow, Katherine E. (Dyche) Kuhlman: three daughters, Mrs. John Morton, Mrs. Alfred Cunningham and Mrs. Albert Grabenstein, all of this city: four brothers, Joseph and William, both of this city; George. Mt. Savage, and James Kuhlman. Fort Myer, Fla.. and a sister Miss Mary Kuhlman, Mt. Savage. The body is at the Scarpelli funeral Home where the rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. A requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a. m. at St Mary's Church and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Shambaugh. Eugene Dyche and Lawrence, Robert, Paul and Ray Kuhlman.

Funeral of George A. Kuhlman. who died suddenly Wednesday morning, took place Saturday morning with a solemn high mass. Rev. Bernadine Kuhlman, of Atwood, Kansas, a brother of the deceased was the celebrant. Rev James Quinn, deacon and Rev. George H. Tragesoor, pastor Saint Patrick's, subdeacon. The pallbearers were: Augustin Brailer, Timothy Kenny, Joseph Miller, Charles Carrabine, John Thompson and Mike Murray; flowerbearers, Frank B. McDermittt, John D. Porter, George Malloy and Edward Logsdon. Internment was in Saint Patrick's Cemetery. He also lived in LaVale and moved to Florida about 10 years ago. Surviving are his widow, Cleota (Ritter) Kuhlman, LaVale. Services will be conducted in Fort Myers. KUHN, Mrs. Gloria Shaffer

FROSTBURG — Gloria Kuhn, 75, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008. She slipped away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was the daughter of the late H. Walter Shaffer and Helen Gross Shaffer of Hyndman, Pa. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Anna Mary Shaffer Leydig. She is survived by a brother and sister, Walter Shaffer Jr., Cumberland, and Marva Hoover, Williamsport, Pa.; a son and daughter, David Kuhn, Cumberland, and Mitzi Hastings and husband Dan, Wiley Ford, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Theresa Shay and husband Brian, along with great-grandchild, Emma, Odenton, Brian Kuhn, Silver Spring; Allison and Emily Kuhn, Cumberland; Chris Hastings and fiancée Carly Monardo, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Sean Hastings, Indiana, Pa. As per her request, her body was donated to science. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

KUHN, Henry

Henry Kuhn, 67, of 403 Fayette street, died suddenly yesterday at Thurmont, Md., of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was stricken while in his automobile and was removed to the home of John Weedle, where he died. He had been employed by the Cumberland Sash and Door Company for 35 years and was working for Radford and Sanders Lumber Co., Baltimore, when he died. The body will arrive at his home tonight. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jessie (Trimble) Kuhn; two daughters, Mrs. W. Richard Sperry and Mrs. Jessie  Batt, both of Baltimore; two sons, Thomas and Henry Kuhn, both of Cumberland; a brother, Lewis, RD 4; three sisters, Mrs. James Dern, Pittsburg; Mrs. Mark Free, Williams Road; and Miss Ruth Kuhn, at home; an adopted brother, Henry Kuhn, this city.

KUHN, Isaac

Speelman - Isaac Kuhn, one of Luke’s valuable citizens, died at a hospital at that place on Monday night, August 29, from being scalded on Monday noon, aged 38 years and 1 day. He was married to Miss Margaret Kelly, who with the following children survive: Bessie and Cecil; and he is also survived by his aged father, three brothers and one sister,  as follows: Mr. John Kuhn of Mt. Storm, W. Va., William S. Kuhn of Schell, W. Va., Elmer and Milton Kuhn and Mrs. Ella Bosley. The funeral service was held at this place on Thursday morning and was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Brubaker, of the Lutheran church  of Westernport, Md., assisted by Rev. Dittmar of Hyndman. The Junior Order of American Mechanics No 19 service was used at the Grove. He was a consistent member of the church, a good husband and father and citizen.

Mrs. Jessie Kuhn, 76, widow of Henry B. Kuhn, of 403 Fayette Street, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital where she had been admitted August 19. She had been in failing health for three years. Born in Wellersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam Trimble and was  Harold Bott, both of Baltimore; two member of Centre Street Methodist Church. (sic: from another article?) Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Richard Sperry and Mrs. (sic) sons, Henry Kuhn, of this city, and Thomas R. Kuhn, Pearsburg, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Espy Miller and Mrs. Lillian Rizer, both of Wellersburg, and Mrs. Anna Sampson, Mt. Savage, Md.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Kuhn, and four grandchildren. The body was taken to the residence this afternoon.

KUNCHER, Clarence J. (also Chester R. Raley)

Bedford - A second fatality occurred as the result of an auto-truck collision Tuesday night near Schellsburg which took the life of a Boswell man, Chester R. Raley, 52, of Boswell, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in Bedford County Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition following the crash. Also killed in the crash was Clarence J. Kuncher, 36, of Boswell, a passenger in the car operated by Raley. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. State police said Raley was towing another car guided by Leonard Brewer, 22, of Boswell, a stepson of Kuncher. The Raley machine went into a skid while rounding a curve and slid into the path of a tractor-trailer rig operated by Charles Forshey, 54, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The Brewer car was thrown clear in the crash and was damaged only slightly. Brewer escaped injury as did his passenger, John Brewer, 30, of Aurora, Ohio. Forshey was treated in the dispensary of the Bedford hospital, He sustained a sprained wrist. The car guided by Brewer had become disabled about three miles west of Bedford and was being towed to Boswell. Kuncher suffered a crushed skull. Raley sustained head, internal and leg injuries. Damage in the crash was estimated at $1,165.

KURTZ, Charles A.

WINCHESTER - Charles A. Kurtz, of Winchester, died yesterday at Martinsburg, suddenly from heart disease. He was 36 years of age and leaves a wife and one child. Mr. Kurtz was on the staff of the Martinsburg Evening Journal. His father, the late Peter L. Kurtz, was a prominent newspaper man of the valley.

FROSTBURG - Mrs. Gladys Kurtz, 38, wife of Roy Kurtz, died last night at her home, 210 First Street, following an extended illness. Born in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Caroline (Jones) Wagner. Mrs. Kurtz was a member of the Guiding Light Mission of Grantsville. Surviving, besides her husband, are two children by a former marriage, Mrs. Virginia Keister and William Haines, both at home; four brothers, John H. Wagner, Finzel; William B. Wagner, Grantsville; Thomas H. Wagner, North Carolina; Lloyd Wagner, Kansas; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Spiker, Corriganville; Mrs. Velma Baker, Finzel; Mrs. Virginia Nickel, Frostburg, and Mrs. Eva Branson, Cumberland. The body is at the residence.

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - Bernie Lee Kuykendall, 84, died Sunday, July 22, 1990, at Pinecrest Hospital, Beckley, following a long illness. Born May 15, 1906, in Hardy County, he was the son of the late Clint and Anna (Kuykendall) Kuykendall. Surviving are his widow, Wilma (Blackburn) Kuykendall; four daughters, Mrs. Carrie Lewis, Old Fields; Mrs. Anna Davis, Lake Placid, Fla.; Miss Louise Kuykendall, Romney; and Mrs. Betty Baker, Fort Ashby; two sons, Jesse Kuykendall, Romney; and Bernie Kuykendall Jr., Berkeley Springs; two stepsons, George Barr, Moorefield; and Carl Barr, Falls Church, Va.; 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. "TRI-TOWNS - Mrs. Martha Jane Kyle, 60, wife of Harrison M. Kyle, died late last night at her home in Barton after suffering a heart attack. Born in Barton, Mrs. Kyle was a daughter of the late Joseph and Martha Bradley. She was a member of Barton Chapter No. 37 Order of the Eastern Star, Barton Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Guild of the congregation. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. John Robertson, Lonaconing; Mrs. Herbert Spiker, Piedmont; Mrs. Leroy Pringle, Baltimore; Mrs. Lee Wilson, Westernport and Misses Dora and Emily Kyle, at home, and seven sons, Harrison B. and William E. Kyle, Barton; James Kyle, Los Angeles; Richard Kyle, Youngstown, Ohio, and Clarence and Melvin Kyle, at home. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Russell and Mrs. St. Clair Miller, Barton; four brothers, Joseph, John, Dewey and James Bradley, all of Barton, and nine grandchildren."
