2, 3, 4); Clubs: Dramatic, Athletic, Girls' Reserves
Motto: "The one who gets the most out of life is the one who puts the most into it."
"Newsie", The girl with sparkling blue eyes, is
always fun-loving, witty, and full of pep. She has been outstanding in
athletics, being an active member of all sports, and in her fourth year
was elected captain of the fieldball team. As captain, she showed her
ability as a great leader and due to this fact won many true friends.
She is one of the typists of the Chime. "Newsie" will long be
remembered by her class for helping toward putting it on top.

Ernest Layman
"Ernie"
Hi-Y Club, (4); Athenian: Nature Hiking Club (2); Aviation Club (1); Athletic Club (2); Track (1, 2, 3, 4)
Motto: "A lion among the ladies is a most dreadful (?) things."
Our class sheik. Without a doubt "Ernie" has the personality that simply slays women. Believe it or not. Just ask any "lassie" from Beall. Only one thing troubled Ernest and that was the long bus ride from Shaft to Eckhart on those cold winter nights.
Seriously, he was a good student and was intensely interested in chemistry. May your effors be crowned with success and you goal reached, "Ernie."
